putstrarry failed for key andrew (1 elements)

I have been trying to set up a qi server (for Linux) but I can't get
makei to build the database index. It just says:

putstrarry failed for key aiex (1 elements)
putstrarry failed for key akeem (1 elements)
putstrarry failed for key akiko (1 elements)
putstrarry failed for key andrew (1 elements)

Same error message repeats for every name field in the database.
Fields are separated with tab and records end with a LF

Suggestions anyone? Is this a "seen-this-hundred-times" error?
Good hints for making CCSO nameserver run in a linux-box?

Another question, are the messages on info-ph mailing list archived
somewhere? I'd like to browse old messages.
