How do I make qi search for mulitple fields?

Hi there:
I've got the distribution of qi-3.1b7, thanks to Gilles Rech. It compiled
fine on Solaris 2.4. However, I could not get qi to query multiple fields
instead of just the name field. Tried putting "Wild" flag on mulitple fields and
that did not help either.
Could somebody be kind enough to tell me how I can configure qi to query
multiple fields ( I like qi to query email, alias, name and nickname fields).
