Subject: New NSF Solicitation now available on World Wide Web

The solicitation for a new NSF activity, "Recognition Awards for the
Integration of Research and Education," is now available on the World Wide
Web at http://www.nsf.gov/od/osti. Distribution of the solicitation will
be via the World Wide Web. ASCII and Microsoft Word 6.0 versions of the
solicitation are available at this Web site for downloading and printing.

This NSF activity will make awards that recognize up to ten
research-intensive universities that have shown leadership, innovation, and
achievement in their efforts to integrate research and education
(specifically college freshmen through Ph.D.) throughout their
organizations. The integration of research and education is one of the
core strategies articulated in the Foundation's strategic plan, "NSF in a
Changing World." Preliminary applications are required and are due 7/5/96.
