There are various ways to do this, some require the use of a Local Talk or
Ethernet router which has the capability of making blind or private zones.
TransWare and Compatible Systems make such devices. There may be others.

As far as locking out servers, the best way to do this is with the
security privileges that your server software already has. In this way
you can keep snoopers out of areas of the server, or the whole server
itself.

You can also accomplish some server security (but not zone hiding) with a
program called Laser Writer Lockout. LWL locks out AppleShare servers
within a given zone. LWL also locks out -- as its name implies --
laserwriters, and imagewriters in given zone(s). As mentioned previously,
it does NOT lock zones. I heard there is a new version out which may also
lock DeskJets and/or Stylewriters, but I don't know this for sure. LWL is
freeware available on many ftp sites.

Other network security programs may do what you need. I would look into
products by Neon, Caravelle, TechWorks, and the AG Group.
