Closing down the ISODE List

The ISODE list has been operating for many years as a forum for
discussion of the public domain ISODE.
This list was originally hosted by the NIC. When they were no longer
able to continue this service, ISODE Consortium decided to support
this list as a public service.
I believe that this list has reached the end of its useful life, and
it is time to close it down. If anyone wishes to host this list
elsewhere, we would be happy to facilitate this. I believe that
closing the list is the right action. We plan to turn off the list on
the 15th November. Reasons:
1) It has been costing a non-trivial effort to maintain the list.
2) We have informed our customers of this list, and typically they
have asked to be removed from it. There is a clear message that it
is not providing useful information.
3) There is a lot of clutter and minimal useful messages. I append a
scan listing of traffic over the last three months.
For those who are interested in the ongoing evolution of the ISODE
technology, the ISODE Consortium maintains an "isode-news" list, to
which anyone may subscribe. For those interested to do so, please
send your email address, company, and phone number to <ic-...@isode.com>
