Structure of signature files

I would like to create signature files "by hand". So what I need to
know about now is the structure of GRASS' signature files. I did
some i.cluster - ing on several images. One signature file is attached.
As far as I understand:
1st line: just a header
2nd line: type of heading
3rd line: number of pixel belonging to this class
4th line: spectral values for each channel in this class
5th to 11th line: ???
6th line: beginning of class 2 as line 2 of class 1
...
Is there a way to fill the ??? if they are unknown so that i.maxlik
will work?
