//// Defensive Shotgun Course \\\\
-------------------------------------

Two-for-One Spring Special!

-------------------------------------

Harvard Sportsmen's Club, Harvard, MA
Saturday, May 4, 1996
-------------------------------------

Do you keep a shotgun for home defense, or have you been thinking
about getting one? Perhaps you have one for sporting use, and have
wondered about its value in a defensive role.

For many generations, the shotgun has been a traditional tool for
protecting one's family and home. However, few people have received
the training necessary to maximize the effectiveness and safety of
their defensive use of a shotgun. Now, for the price of one, you and
a friend can receive this training.

AWARE, a charitable group teaching women effective means of self-
protection, provides this training in its Defensive Shotgun course.
This course not only teaches you _how_ to use a shotgun, but also
_when_ you can use one --- tactically, legally, and ethically.
Special attention will be paid to the needs and requirements of women,
and to the advantages women have in controlling violent confronta-
tions. The course is also open to men. There will be a combination of
lecture, discussion of actual and hypothetical situations, and
hands-on range work.

The course will be taught by Roger Lanny, who is a Director of
AWARE, a police-level defense instructor, a Smith & Wesson Certified
Shotgun Instructor, and a Contributing Editor of Women & Guns
magazine.

To take this course, you should already understand basic firearms
safety and have some familiarity with shotguns. Registration in
advance is required. Reserve your space by sending a copy of your FID
or firearms license and a $20 deposit to the address below. You are
encouraged to bring your own shotgun, but you must mention this when
you register. If you have any questions, please call the number below
for more information.

You will need to bring a pen and notebook and a lunch.

DATE AND TIME: Saturday, May 4, 8:45 AM to 6:30 PM.

LOCATION: Harvard Sportsmen's Club, Harvard, MA.

FEE: $65 (includes materials). Take advantage of our spring special:
you and a friend can attend for a total of $65 if you both
register in advance.
