What well regulated militia do we belong to? When I wrote
my web page in 1993, I was careless and believed the NRA
when they told us the 2nd amendment gave us the right to
keep and bear arms. But, just lately, I read the 2nd amendment
and find they were not honest with us. Here is the actual text:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a
free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall
not be infringed." But that was written in the time of the
Revolutionary War, when there was only a minimal militia,
and the bulk of the soldiers were the ordinary citizens called
up to fight, each of whom had a musket, (rifle), as a weapon.
Only the NRA would think the founding fathers were looking
into the future this far to dictate this policy. and nobody
thinks this policy suits today's world. Please read my url,

What is is about "...or to prevent the people of the United States, who are
peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms;." That you don't
understand?

FALSE QUOTE to Charleton Heston to further your political thought.
Thus, any idea you propose is subject to the most intense scrutiny.
On your website, you state the following about the 2nd amendment:

citizen could be called upon to become a soldier to defend against the
British , and the weapon they used was a musket, now called a rifle,
which was kept in his home.
To discount the second amendment because it was written during the
Revolution is a FALSE LINE OF REASONING. If it were possible to use
this argurment, it would be possible to dispose of ANY OF THE BILL OF
RIGHTS by claiming that they are "antiquated" and not designed for
"modern" society since we are not in a revolution.

Don’t tell us the founding fathers intended for all future generations
to allow children, the mentally ill, criminals, and all kinds of
fanatics to have guns, and particularly automatic weapons with
firepower even stronger than the police have! The NRA should find
another Bible. And I don’t think we need the Supreme Court to
interpret this amendment.
If you knew ANYTHING about what the Founding Fathers thought, you
would know that the rights guaranteed and protected in the Consitution
ARE NOT designed for children, menally ill people, or criminals. As
far as "fanatics"....you seem to be suggesting that to own a gun is to
be a fanatic. Just over HALF of all Americans own guns. This means
that "fanatics" are in the majority.

right to search anyone or any vehicle that they suspect may be
carrying a gun or other legal weapon. Attack weapons would be strictly
prohibited anywhere, with a much higher sentence when caught.
So I guess we should discard the 4th amendment as well? You claim you
fought in WWII. I'm just curious on what side? Were you bombing
Pearl Harbor, a facist Italian, or a Nazi? Your ideas are only
congruant with complete totalitarianism and destruction with the
freedoms America presents to the world.

It is possible for a tyrant government to defeat the militia when the
average citizens are disarmed, but when every able bodied person has a gun
and they will die for their freedom from the tyrants, the people have
already won.
The second amendment is not an idea some old dead white guys wrote to keep
the Redcoats from marching in their house, it is meant to keep great United
States from control of tyrants that take away the rights of its people.

government, to be free from unreasonable search and seizure, or to have an

In April, 1989, the Chinese people bravely demanded these freedoms.
Unfortunately, they do not have the right to keep and bear arms, either. As
the world watched in horror, the Communist tyrants crushed the unarmed
demonstrators like so many insects.
The streets ran red with the blood of freedom, but freedom did not carry the
day.
Rights are worthless without the firearms necessary to defend them.
