I am seeking a reliable Internet Billing package that works in conjunction
with BSDI 4.0

Ideally one that can be loaded with minimal fuss and bother.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thankyou in advance

We use Rodopi. I have found it to be very powerful in what you can
accomplish with it. One disadvantage is that it runs on an NT box with
SQL. It is fully web enable. You can set it up to configure multiple
host running multiple OS's with executable scripts that are sent to them.
You program the scripts so you have total control. Interfaces with your
radius, processes credit cards with IC Verify. Great package.

I did some consulting work setting up special user administration scripts
for some people doing this. It looked like a tolerable environment, although
the NT box part is probably unreliable.

Ive used Internet Billing from www.coolworld.com. Its just 'ok',
and you can purchase a daemon binary that will run under BSDI
that can control a radius database and the password facility.
Runs under win95/98, and can run under NT, but they have told
me 1 out of 3 people have problems on NT (and apparently have no
desire to fix it).

Ive heard great things about IAF from www.solect.com. From looking
at their website, it is more than just a billing package.
I especially like the ability to import your radius logs for usage
and alarms.

I use Optigold ISP which you can read about here:
http://www.data-point.com/products/isp/. I run it on my MacOS and WinNT
workstations and use rcp and telnet with scripts that integrate quite
nicely with our BSDI systems.

It's about as minimal in the fuss and bother category as you'll find.
