Hello,

I’m a PhD student from Oregon State University and I’m working on a study about how developers change software when practicing Test Driven Development.

Our research group is actively seeking TDD practitioners.

It would be of great help to us if any TDD practitioners agree to participate. Participation involves installing an Eclipse plugin that records code changes that are done in Eclipse. It also records other development information such as test runs or refactorings. After installation there is no more interaction with the plugin, so no time involvement is required. More information about how to participate can be found here: http://cope.eecs.oregonstate.edu/

We plan on using this data to build a theoretical background to TDD which will help us and the community in designing better testing tools.

We’re committed to the belief that research only has value when it provides useful and practical results. Therefore it is important to have real data from real developers so that our research can be practical and applicable to real life. Sharing your development practice helps research which in turn helps the community.

Please reply to me if you are interested in either participating or spreading the word about our study and I’ll provide additional information.

Thank you,

Mihai Codoban
