It is that time of the year again. The Holiday Season is basically over and, if you are like me, it is time to start looking forward to warmer weather. Last season was the inaugural Infinite MTB Team season. We started the season off with a trip to St. George for an early spring training camp, and continued riding as a group almost every Thursday throughout the spring and summer, and into the fall. There were some early morning rides with small groups and a night ride or 2. In all, I would say that we had a good first season.
Now it is time to look forward to this upcoming 2014 season! First off, I want to welcome everybody that has joined the team and that I haven't had the pleasure or meeting yet. We welcome all to ride with us. Feel free to invite your friends and family to ride with our group. While we are a "race team", racing is not the first priority. Riding is the first priority! Whether each rider chooses to race or not, we welcome every rider that wishes to join us. Our group is comprised of all skill levels and riding backgrounds. In fact, you don't really even need to be an official member of the team (and by that I mean purchase to Infinite Team kit) to ride with us. Having said that, there are definite advantages and perks, besides the sweet uniform, to paying the dues and officially joining the team.
So, let's see if we can increase the number riders this year that join us and share the sport we love!
As for camps, rides and races, I would like to know what interests you all. Last year we had a great weekend of riding in St. George in late February. We called this our spring camp. Is there any interest in doing the same thing this year? We also had weekly rides on Thursdays, after work. Most of these took place in Corner Canyon (CC) in Draper. While we will probably keep those rides on Thursday evenings, I would love to find new trails and ride somewhere else besides CC. Is there any interest in doing group rides Saturdays as well? How about racing? Utah has a number of great race series that take place both during the week and on Saturdays. There are also many endurance type races (12 Hours, 24 Hours, Relays, 50 miles +, etc) that take place in Utah and other surrounding states. We can discuss these races as the season draws nearer.
I really enjoy riding with this group, and look forward to getting to know even more of you this year! Please feel free to respond to this thread, or start a new thread with and suggestions, recommendations, or questions.
