So I am so stoked about my new setup on my bike! I went with an all new drivetrain, wheels and tires.

It is a very unique build as the wheels are 650b (27.5") and the drivetrain is SRAM's new XX1 groupset on my 26" 2012 Scalpel 2.

The new wheels will give some better roll-over ability like a 29" yet it will still be fun and agile like a 26".

Then XX1, I have only ridden it a few miles, but I can tell a huge difference, no more Fr. D is the best thing yet, and the chain tension makes pedal response stiff and immediate, I recommend you try it out.

It will be my version of an all mountain race bike, for me it offers the capability of all mountain ridding, but it still extremely fast for when it comes race time, that way I can train, race, and have fun all on the same bike, it is my dream bike (for now)! All in it is about 21lbs, not bad for a full suspension semi-big wheeler.

I just want to give a quick thanks to Cam, Brad and everyone at Infinite Cycles for helping me get it ready.

I am excited to ride with next weekend!

So what do you think?

Wow, it looks fantastic! That XX1 drivetrain is definitely the way to go. The 650b wheels will be fun to try too.

What size frame is it? I'd kind of like to hop on and give it a short whirl this weekend, if you don't mind.

Thanks, I went riding on Saturday in some packed snow slush and I was very impressed. It feels much more confident, almost like a new bike, diffidently are great upgrades.

Sure if you want to give it a spin that is fine. It is a Medium.

Is that 650b wheels on a 26" frame? I guess the lefty makes that an easier conversion - how is the rear clearance?
