Can anyone tell me how to fix the issue in my KCAN report that the KCC identifier does not match the local course code? I can find where they do not match but to fix it in IC or KCCMS is the question I guess I have? Even if someone would want to give me a call to try to walk me through it, that would be greatly appreciated.  620-326-4300 ext 2204

Hi Erica,

As far as the part about fixing it in IC or KCCMS - that depends. What I do is look at the error code that KCAN kicks back & then I look at the KCCMS entry to see where the issue is.
This example I had to fix in IC. I did not have the course set as Distance learning. So the end of the export was GGN. It should have been GDN. Fixing it in IC on the course master and pushing that master back into 25-26 SY allowed the extra to read correctly.
The KCC Identifier and Local Course ID do not match an active course in the Kansas Course Code Management System (KCCMS).8323112859474902072G0.501109GGN

Does this help some?

I often run into an issue on my elementary and middle school courses for the amount of credits the course offers. This is due to how we have those courses set up. We report the courses as generally a 0.25, 0.50, or 1.00 credits. However, the course code extract doesn't get it correct nor does the KCAN (again it's an us issue) so when you run the course extract you might double check the credits. In our situation I found the best way to handle it is to copy the KCAN data into a spreadsheet (change the cells to Text) and manually change the course codes to reflect the correct credits. I did the same before I uploaded the courses to KCCMS. So that is something to check.
