Does Printing of Family Tree Require Purchase of App?

Am I required to purchase this app in order to print family tree?  I ask this cause I was able to install the app, import my family tree and configure the page format to print one page horizontally.  Looks good on the screen but when I print the quality is very poor and unable to read.  If purchasing the app is necessary to be able to print readable output, then please let me know as I believe it would be worth the cost.  Also, please explain the extended package ($8.99) verses the basic package ($1.99).  Thank you.

Not sure what you mean by "when I print the quality is very poor and
unable to read"; you should get the same thing on the paper and
onscreen. What do you get if, from the print dialog, you save to a PDF
file instead of printing directly? And if you print this PDF file?

The only difference if you buy the application is that the watermark is
removed, both onscreen and when printing or exporting, in every
situation (extended package), or only if the tree contains no more than
255 people, and does not include the timeline and implex collapsing
(basic package).

Jerome...thanks for your response.  When I print directly the print is very faded/light and difficult to read.  I will try saving to a PDF file and then printing the PDF file to see if the quality of the print is better.

Also, try to print the demo tree (you can open it from the "help / show welcome window" menu) which won't include any watermark, to see if the problem is caused by the watermark.

Jerome:  I had better success printing the demo file and it seems I at least need to clean my printer and/or replace some ink cartridges.  However, there still appears to be some limitations with the free version of the software in that none of the lines connecting people on my tree are printing and only names are printing, no dates.  I noted a message that appeared with loading the app...something about needing to purchase the basic package if I have more than 63 people in my tree...which I do.  Can you explain the difference between basic package and the extended package.  Thanks.

I don't know why the lines don't print; if what you print differ from what you see in the PDF file (when you export to PDF from the print dialog), then the problem is beyond Infinite Family Tree Drawer; maybe a problem with your printer, the ink cartridge, the printer driver etc…

You can configure whether to display dates or not, in the second pane (persons description and family events) by clicking the arrow at the right of "birth and death". Anyway, what you print should always be what you see onscreen, and what you get on PDF.

I can't really explain the differences between basic and extended packages, more than what is shown when you open the purchase dialog, from the application menu; if you don't print more than 255 persons at a time (you can use the "limit generation depth" slider, or collapse some branches, to avoid reaching this limit), and don't have some implexes (people appearing in multiple branches of the tree, which occurs when distant cousins get married), then the basic package is OK for you.
