You could always tell when spring and fall cleaning was being done as
the lines were full of curtains and drapes....... Oh I oftimes remember
my clotheslines when the children were small. Some things had to wait to
be hung after some things dried but that could be expected with five
children.

I NEVER READ THAT BEFORE. IT WAS TRUE TOO----I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS
WELL. SOMETIMES I WISH I COULD HANG SOME THINGS OUT. I STILL SEE A
FEW CLOTHES LINES AROUND IOWA. I LOVED THE FRESH SMELL OF SHEETS
DRIED OUTSIDE IN A BREEZE (NO DRYER SHEETS HAVE EVER QUITE DUPLICATED
THAT SMELL)---BUT I ALSO REMEMBER WITH LESS PLEASURE ---HANGING CLOTHES
IN FREEZEING WEATHER--BRINGING THEM IN STIFF & HANGING THEM AROUIND
INSIDE TO FINSISH DRYING !! NOT SO PLEASANT.
