For those working on new input systems (hexinput, etc.), here is

I've got that on the iphone already...  It's not called Swipe though.

sw(i/y)pe is not like iphone keyboard

It is more like T9, cause user connects characters via swpes, but not
only the vertex characters are taken, but also those on edges, to form
the word.

Right, however there's an app for the iphone that uses that exact input of swiping over the keys without lifting the finger to make notes and type email.

That app wasn't rejected on grounds that it "duplicated functionality
present in the iPhone keyboard?" ;-)

nope.  The iphone keyboard doesn't let you trace text around to spell words on a keyboard without lifting your finger.

not the same input mechanism.  Sadly, without being able to select it as the default input mechanism, the app really isn't all that interesting.  Luckily it was free.
