great!, that's good to know.
> I'll try to buy one on my way out of JP.
I've been waiting for the europe release just to avoid compatibility
probs and be sure that the people developing have = hardware.
The other reason being that i don't know a word of japanese.
Besides seems you'll arrive in time to get one european DSi.

i'm speculating a bit here,
but i think in the overall it's worth mentioning a few things:
seems the DSi's price here in europe will be around 170€:
http://recherche.fnac.com/search/quick.do?text=dsi
besides the DSi itself, a flashcart is needed to run homebrew code,
a few considerations that come to mind are:
- boot code using the same mechanism used by the DS (SLOT-1 cards)
- the flashcart runs .nds images, so the ndstool should work.
There're other media suitable for boot, but i guess that atm not much is
known about the SD card controller, so they're using the same
mechanism used in the DS.
About the flashcard alternatives, there're a few: r4dsi, ttdsi, ak2i,
... (probably + to come)
There's not much to say about these because the DSi it's still not
widespread yet,
so there're no reviews, descriptions about these devices.
In any case, there're a few things i'd have in mind when choosing a flashcart:
- choose one which is common enough
- have the flashcard i/o source code (which afaik none of the above has)
I'm interested in more correct/complete or up to date information, if
that's the case just post it.

shouldn't the code for the R4 work on the R4i?
from what i've read the R4i is unrelated to R4,
it doesn't even appear on the official site: http://r4ds.cn
so i'd doubt that they would even share the code.

thanks for pointing this out, morever i noticed i was missing r4 ultra,
it should be a matter of checking if the firmware uses the R4TF.dldi.
