In this guide, you can find out how to download and install Bluetooth driver windows 10, and fix common issues with them such as Bluetooth not working, or Bluetooth not detecting devices on Windows 10.

Solution 1: Check the status of the Bluetooth driver for Windows 10
Solution 2: Re-enable your Bluetooth driver software in Device Manager
Solution 3: Reinstall your Bluetooth driver - reinstall bluetooth driver Windows 10

If you don't have your Bluetooth drivers yet, you first need to acquire them and properly install them onto your computer. This can be done quite easily, and our guide is here to make sure you take the quickest route to use Bluetooth technology.

If you have a Bluetooth laptop, you most likely already have drivers pre-installed by the device manufacturer. In this case, you might want to check Bluetooth driver updates instead of completely reinstalling them.

Before downloading a Bluetooth driver, you need to get information about your system and note important details. This will ensure that you download the correct Bluetooth drivers compatible with your setup and Bluetooth devices. You may run into wireless connection issues if you download the incorrect drivers.

To install the Bluetooth driver, simply open the file you downloaded in the previous step and follow any on-screen instructions. This process is different for each manufacturer, which means we can't provide an accurate step-by-step guide.

Note that you might require access to a local administrator account to be able to install the driver on your device. This is a security measure in Windows 10 to ensure no incorrect or infected drivers are installed on the computer.

Your Bluetooth version may be important to determine whether or not your drivers are outdated or a version with known bugs, lacking features, or frequent error messages. To check what version of Bluetooth is currently installed on your device, follow the instructions below.

You may not realize that after installing the correct drivers, Bluetooth itself may still be disabled on your computer. If Bluetooth is already enabled on your device, follow the same steps to restart it in order to get it to work properly.

Windows 10 comes with a variety of troubleshooters that aim to automatically solve issues on your computer. This makes solutions more accessible to users. Users have found that the Bluetooth troubleshooter is able to address and fix issues related to wireless issues.

Some users report that simply updating to the newest version release of Windows 10 made any present Bluetooth errors go away. As a bonus, you might even get access to new and exciting features, improved security, and better optimization.

Once you've installed or fixed your Bluetooth drivers, you can now connect your Bluetooth speaker and listen to your favorite sound. If you have a Bluetooth speaker to connect, here is a video that helps you connect the speaker. Watch how to connect Bluetooth speaker on Youtube

Bluetooth is a powerful tool, and you can take full advantage of it now. We hope this piece answered all your questions about installing and fixing your Bluetooth drivers. If you ever suspect that a device isn't working because of your drivers, return here to solve the issue again.

After installing Windows 10 I have completely lost my bluetooth option on my laptop. It no longer appears under device manager. Also, I am unable to uninstall the bluetooth program/driver that appears in Control Panel.

In device manager, right click this PC select manage, there should be a section called Bluetooth. It should appear even if all services are disabled. If it is not there I would double check my BIOS/UEFI and make sure the bluetooth adapter is turned on. I have all bluetooth options and apps disabled and the device still shows up although it is also disabled.

Thank you. My windows 10 was an upgrade, not a fresh install. I have ran Services.msc and found that it will only let me start two of the five bluetooth options. Bluetooth Handsfree Device and Bluetooth Support Service. The other 3 give me error 1053.

As stated, there is no bluetooth section appearing in Device Manager. This disappeared after installing Windows 10. In Bluetooth and other device settings in Windows 10 there is no option to turn on blue tooth, which would lead me to think the bluetooth driver needs to be updated/reinstalled, but does not work. I get an error when I try to repair from the control panel . Also, control panel does not provide an option to uninstall. There are no changes with reinstalling the driver either.

I just now see my blue tooth adapter in Device Manager when looking for hidden devices. I tried updating but it says my version is the latest and there are no updates. I guess its good I found where I can see it, but have no idea where to go from here.

Control panal doesnt have a bluetooth option, that is correct. Also you don't have to worry about your BIOS or UEFI but usually you select F1, or F10 or F12 on boot, depends on model etc, some are DEL. I wouldn't mess about in there it doesnt seem like thats your issue.

You can right click this pc and go to the hardware tab and click device installation settings and allow the computer to auto update drivers. I would also run windows update and make sure there isnt any drivers that have not been selected.

I previously saw my bluetooth adapter in device manager, but I don't know after uninstalling it. I read something where this could allow the adapter to be reinstalled, but it hasn't. I currently do not see my bluetooth adapter in device manager.

I do not have a bluetooth driver management service in my services section. The closest I have is Bluetooth Support Service or Bluetooth Media Service. Bluetooth Support Service is set to automatic. I get an error when I try to start Bluetooth Media Service.

I'm trying to use bluetooth with python, and I came across a module - pybluez. Right then, I tried installing it by running pip install pybluez. The package was located and downloaded, but it raised an error when running python setup.py egg_info.

I then tried to download pyBluez from this link , it said that the Python version installed on my PC is not 2.7 ( I have 2.7.10; do I need 2.7.0 for this?) Also, this download link is for a 32-bit system, and that might be the reason it does not run on mine.

Bluetooth is readily supported on Linux in basically any context. Python 3 built-in socket objects work over bluetooth even. But for Windows, there are hoops to jump through. The standard solution for this is to use PyBluez. If you're really lucky, you might be able to install with just pip install PyBluez-win10. If that fails, however, the way to go is an installation via a pre-compiled "wheel".

A given wheel only works for your specific context, however, i.e. exact Python version. So, for the sake of future proofing, if you are going to need PyBluez, you should know how create a wheel from the source for yourself. It's a long, annoying process if you don't have the all the software required already and are not familiar with some parts of the process e.g. using Anaconda. So, if you are working in a team, I suggest having one person burn their time on this and then share the wheel with everyone (who are hopefully on the same version of Python!).

During the install you MUST select BOTH "Visual C++ build tools" AND "Universal Windows Platform build tools". Leave the default options alone within those (e.g. including the Windows 10 SDK).

Under bluetooth and Devices. Selecting Devices and then scrolling down to discovery of bluetooth devices. Try selecting Advanced and do a scan. Mine was set to Standard and didn't show any devices.

I have the same issue. Bluetooth was working fine. I typicaly used it with the myphone app. Now the adapter does not even appear. The Intel AC9560 is still there, but no bluetooth. I tried the latest drivers from the HP site, as well from Intel. No luck. PC is an HP Prodesk G5 mini on windows 11 ver 23H2

Bluetooth is a standard for the short-range wireless interconnection of cellular phones, computers, and other electronic devices. In Linux, the canonical implementation of the Bluetooth protocol stack is BlueZ.

To do this, first pair your device on your Arch Linux install. Then reboot into the other OS and pair the device. Now you need to extract the pairing keys, but first switch off the Bluetooth devices to prevent any connection attempts.

The registry key containing the link keys may only be accessed by the SYSTEM account, which cannot be logged into. Therefore, you will need Microsoft's PsExec tool from the official Windows Sysinternals site in order to run regedit.exe as SYSTEM.

Within this registry key is one subkey per Bluetooth adapter, named by MAC address. If there are multiple subkeys, and you are unsure of which to use, follow this guide to find the MAC address for the desired Bluetooth adapter.

In the desired adapter's registry key, there is a name-value pair for each paired device, with the name being its MAC address. Additionally, you might see some subkeys named by MAC addresses, each containing name-value pairs with names like LTK or IRK. These subkeys (if any) are for Bluetooth 5.1 devices. If the device you're trying to share has a subkey, it is a Bluetooth 5.1 device. If it does not have a subkey, only a name-value pair, it is not a Bluetooth 5.1 device.

Right click on the adapter's registry key and export it as a .reg file. This is a text file that you can copy keys from. As mentioned, it contains pairing keys in name-value pairs for non-Bluetooth 5.1 devices, and pairing keys (and some other information) in per-device subkeys for Bluetooth 5.1 devices. Make this file available to your Linux installation and reboot into it.
