Indianapolis contra dance postponed one more week

Indy Contra has to postpone our next dance for another week. We've skipped several weeks so that the place we dance can do maintenance, including cleaning and refinishing of the floor. (See below for very important info!)

The floor refinishing company says it really won't be ready for dancing by this Tuesday, January 29th, so we're canceling that dance and our next dance will be on Tuesday, February 5th. Emily Ann Thompson will play, and it's open calling so we hope several people will come with dance cards!

If you're bringing friends, please be sure to get them there before 7:30 so we can give them a basic intro before dancing starts at 7:45.

Because the floor is new we're asked to take special care with it!

CLEAN, non-marking shoes are mandatory.

Please, please, please, carry in a pair of dance shoes, and do not dance in the shoes you walked in wearing. We have been asked to change shoes as soon as we arrive, before walking on the floor. We may need to check shoes for dirt and grit. Just one really small pebble stuck in the tread of a pair of sneakers will scratch the brand new finish. Refinishing was expensive and time consuming and we need to respect the church's concerns.
