Dear All,

India Metrological Department has forecasted severe/very severe cyclone Nivar (wind speed 110/120 km/hr) in Tamilnadu & Puducherry due to depression over southwest bay of Bengal.  Coastal districts will experience heavy rain starting from 24th Nov. The Tamilnadu Govt has deployed 6 National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) teams to manage the situation. There is possible impact to south Andhra Pradesh as well. The cyclone can land in Tamilnandu coasts on 25th Nov.

Request you to take all precautions to prevent any untoward incident. Be in touch with local authority for specific advisories/actions & status of cyclone. Avoid work at site if it is falling in the cyclone range.

Stay indoor. Stop all height work activity. Secure loose material, stacking, ladder, roof sheet,  scaffold etc. Ensure that electrical supply is isolated prior to leaving the site.  Avoid visit to market, customer etc.

There is possibility of electricity cut & drinking water shortage. Plan accordingly. Keep power bank, batteries etc ready. Keep laptops & mobiles charged. Use it judiciously.

Post cyclone, verify healthiness of  electrical supply, temporary rails, edge protection, ladder, scaffold, material stacking prior to restart of work.

With best regards,
Yogesh Shingte
