Chambal Fertilisers Plans To Set Up
800 TPD Single Super Phospate Unit
Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited plans to set up a
800 TPD Powdered Single Super Phosphate Unit in Kota District, Rajasthan.
Capacity : 800 TPD
Out of 800 TPD powdered Single Super Phosphate 400 TPD will be converted into Granular SSP.
Annual Production Capacity : 2.64 Lac MT
(Operating Days : 330 Days per annum)
Location : Gadepan Village, Kota District , Rajasthan.

About Chambal Fertilisers :
Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (CFCL) is flagship company of Zuari-Chambal, part of K.K. Birla group, having two plants
(Gadepan-I & II) manufacturing nitrogenous fertiliser at Gadepan, Kota.
CFCL is the largest private sector fertiliser complex in India with total
(Gadepan-I & II plants) re-assessed capacity of 8,64,600 tons of urea
per annum of each plant.
Both Gadepan-I &II plants represent a total investment of over Rs. 2,500
Crores. The total land acquired at Gadepan is about 1060 acres.
As you have known above that Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd. (CFCL) are operating Two state of the art Nitrogenous Fertilisers plants at Gadepan, Kota in the state of Rajasthan, but to provide all agriculture inputs including Single super Phosphate Fertilisers through Single Window Concept, CFCL has planned for a Single Super Phosphate (SSP) manufacturing unit, for the capacity of 800 TPD powdered Single Super Phosphate out of which 400 TPD will be converted in Granular SSP.
PLEASE NOTE:
There are approx. 74 Nos. Single Super Phosphate units operational in India.
The total installed capacity of SSP plants in India is 30 Lac MT.
It constitutes 20.50% of the total capacity of phosphatic Fertilizers.
Presently there is 12 Lac MT Gap in demand and supply of SSP.
Govt. agencies has projected demand supply gap of 17 Lac MT by the
year 2011-12.
Looking up at requirement of fertilizer in the country, andGovernment of India’s recent policy for phosphoric fertilizers, the Company has planned for this new project.

As 0n June 23, 2011 : The Project is under Planning Stage .
The unit would come up on 1.570 Hectare of Land .
IMPORTANT: As per the the discussion we had
on 18.06.2011 with Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited
the Project is under Panning Stage.
The company is waiting for the clearance from State Pollution Control
Authority.
The project work is likely to start from August/ September, 2011.
The Project is Scheduled to be Completed
by August, 2013.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Hot Air Generator
Fuel : Natural Gas / Furnace Oil
The SSP plant will utilize Furnace oil in the Ball mill for Moisture removal
from Rock phosphate. Furnace oil will also be used in Granular SSP
manufacturing for reducing moisture content of product.

Manufacturing Process:
The plant will have a capacity to produce 800 MT/day.
Out of 800 TPD powdered Single Super Phosphate 400 TPD will be converted in Granular SSP,
TheSSP manufacturing process will comprise of two basic steps :
Single Super Phosphate (SSP)
The rock phosphate will be ground in Ball mill. The ground rock phosphate will
then be mixed with Sulphuric acid of 68-69% concentration in Mixer. The
output from Mixer will be sent to Den and then to a shed for further curing to
form SSP powder for sale.
Granular Single Super Phosphate
SSP powder produced as mentioned above will be mixed with water to form
granules in Granulator. The granules formed will be heated to bring the
moisture content in desirable level. The hot granules will then be cooled and
passed through vibrating screens for desired mesh size and will be packed for
sale.
Heating System , Scrubber / Cyclones:
The grinding of rock phosphate may lead to emissions of dust.
Pulse jet dust collector will be provided to control dust emissions.
A stack will be provided at the ball mill. At mixer and Den, during acidulation
gases will be liberated. These gases from mixer and Den will be
passed through absorption stages as under;
1. Ejector
2. Cyclone separator
3. Ventury Scrubber
4. Multi Stage Scrubbing Towers
RAW MATERIAL REQUIREMENT
ROCK PHOSPHATE AND SULFURIC ACID
1 Rock Phosphate (Min 31.5% P2O5) : 460 TPD
2 Sulphuric Acid (98% concentration) : 296 TPD
DG set : 250 KVA (1 No.)
For back up in the common areas as well as for essential services one
D.G.set with cumulative capacity of 250 KVA will be installed.
The fuel requirement will be about 42.5 litre/hr of HSD (as and when used).
Water Treatment Plant:
Pumps, Valves, Custom Pipeline Work, Plumbing Work
The total water demand for this project has been estimated as
370 KLD.The source of water supply for the project will be
Kalisindh River.
The fresh water requirement for the proposed project will be used for
Dilution of Sulfuric acid, Absorption of Hydro Fluoro Silicic Acid, GSSPmanufacturing and domestic and plantation purpose etc

1. Process Water for SSP Unit : 245 M3/Day
2. Process Water for GSSP : 64 M3/Day
3.Domestic : 05 M3/Day

I. Miscellaneous (Plantation) : 26 M3/Day

Effluent Treatment Plant
During operation phase the main sources of effluent generation will be
as follows:
1. Effluent from scrubber sets (SSP /GSSP plant)
2. Domestic effluent
For SSP manufacturing, during mixing of Sulphuric acid and rock phosphate
ore, silica tetra fluoride and Hydrogen Fluoride will be evolved.
These gases will be scrubbed with the help of multi stage scrubbing system by addition of water. The effluent generated from this scrubber set will be Acidic and will contain Silica and acidic liquid H2SiF6. Effluent generated from scrubber set
will be collected in a common sump and pumped into a filter press/ notch
filter to separate out Silica.
During normal operation of plant, domestic sewage, approx 2.5 KLD, will be
treated through existing sewage treatment plant and shall be completely
reused for horticulture and green belt development as per existing practice.
