Rajashree Cement Going For Major
Expansion With Captive Power Plant
Capacity :

Cement Plant : From 4.2 MTPA to 8.7 MTPA
Clinker : From 4.7 to 9.0 MTPA
(including 15 MW of WHRB)
Location : Village Malkhed, Hanganahli, Udgi & Diggaon,
Aditya Nagar, Taluka Sedam, P.O.Malkhed Road,
District Gulbarga, Karnataka.
As 0n July 14, 2011 : The Project is under planning stage.
The total area for the cement plant and captive power plant is 453.00 ha, 733.82 ha for mine and total area is 1186.82 ha for expansion of clinker production .
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 06.07.2011 with Rajashree Cement the Expansion project is under planning stage.
The Land has been acquired.
The company has reeived the MoEF Clerance.
The project work is likely to start from
August/ September, 2011.
The Project is Scheduled to be Completed
By June, 2013 .

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Boiler ( For CPP) – Coal Fired
Heat Exchangers, Air Pre-heater/Economiser)
Limestone (13.4 MTPA), laterite/bauxite (0.88 MTPA), coal (2.55 MTPA), chemicals gypsum (0.20 MTPA) and fly ash (2.05 MTPA) will be used as raw materials. PPC Cement will be manufactured using fly ash from Captive Power Plant.
Waste Heat Recovery Boiler:
The hot flue gases from DRI kilns will pass through waste heat recovery Boilers to recover the heat and to generate 15 MW electricity. The gases after heat recovery will pass through ESPs and then discharged through chimneys into the atmosphere for effective dispersion of emissions into the atmosphere.
Limestone Mining
Limestone mining will be carried out by Mechanized Opencast method of mining
The top soil will be removed and used for green belt development. The limestone bench of 10 m height will be drilled and blasted. The overall pit slope will be kept at 450. Blasted limestone will be transported by tippers to the crushers.
Mining will include the following activities:
- Removal of Over Burden
- Drilling & Blasting
- Crushing of Limestone
- Loading
- Transportation to the cement plant via Conveyor Belts
In Lime Stone Mines Crusher will be provided with Water Spray on the Hopper and at material transfer points.

Air Polution Control Equipment:
High efficiency ESP, bag house, bag filters will be installed to mitigate particulate emissions within 50 mg/Nm3. Proper stack height will be provided as per CPCB guidelines. Fly ash will be stored in silos and closed shed.
Dust suppression and extraction system with bag filters and atomized water sprinklers will be provided to prevent fugitive dust emissions at limestone and coal uploading hopper and handling area.

Water requirement will be 14,817m3/day for this integrated project.
Source of Water: The water requirement will be met from
River Kagina and Mine Sump.
Effluent Treatment Plant
The Waste Water from the CPP will be recycled back to the process and used for cooling and dust suppression. Domestic effluent will be treated in the sewage treatment plant and treated effluent will be used for green belt and dust suppression in the mines.
No effluent will be discharged outside the premises and Zero discharge will be adopted. Excavated mine pits will be used for rain water harvesting. Rain water harvesting structures will be constructed in plant and colony area.
No solid waste will be generated from the cement manufacturing process. Dust collected from the air pollution control equipments will be recycled in process. Fly ash will be used for manufacturing PPC Cement. Sludge from STP will be used as manure for green belt. Overburden will be used for bund formation and horticulture as per approved mining plan. No mine waste will be generated. Process dust/spillages will be recycled. STP sludge will be used as manure for horticulture purpose. Waste/used/spent oil and used batteries will be sold to authorized recyclers/re-processors.
