Covalent Laboratories Pvt. Ltd ( Unit-II) plans to set up a Bulk Drug
& Bulk Drug Intermediate Manufacturing Unit having
Capacity of 3250 TPA along with a 2x3 MW CPP Captive Power Plant at Maruvada Village, Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh.
Capacity :
1.Captive Power Plant : 2X3 MW
2. Bulk Drugs & Intermediates :
3250 TPA
Total production will be 3250 TPA and any 20 products will be manufactured
at a time.
The plant will have a production capacity (TPA) of:
1. CEPHALOSPORINS 1200 TPA

As 0n October 04, 2011 : The Project is under Planning Stage.
The unit would come up on about 20.2585 Ha of Land .
Green belt will be developed in 8.01 Ha out of total 20.2585 Ha.
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 28.09.2011 Covalent Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. the Project is under Panning Stage now.
The company has obtained the first level of Environmental Clerance and now waiting for the final clerance from MoEF.
The project work is likely to start within 2 to 3 Months
The Project is Scheduled to be Completed
by March 2013 .

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Boiler : 10 TPH : 2 Nos
Fuel : Coal – 80 Tons/ per day
Stack : 30 Meters
Heat Exchangers, Air Pre-heater/Economiser)
Pullution Control Equipment:
Bag Filter, Two stage scrubber. Multi-cyclone separator,
Process emission will be controlled by installing the Scrubbers and Scrubbed liquid will be sent for further treatment.
Multi-cyclone separator followed by Bag filter followed by a stack
(30 m) will be installed for controlling particulate matter from coal fired boilers.
Fugitive emission will be controlled by installing the primary and secondary condensers with brine circulation and handling of solvent will be through flame proof pumps. Vent condensers will be provided to storage tanks.

Manufacture process of bulk drugs will involve mainly chemical synthesis in 1 to 12 stage.

Process residue, filter & filter material / filter cloth and high flow will be sent to common incinerator facility for incineration.

Water Treatment Plant :

During operational phase, the water consumption for the proposed project will be
800 m3/day,
Water will be sourced from Borewell .
The raw water will be required for cooling tower makeup, process water makeup and washings.
Effluent Treatment Plant:
The Effluent Treatment scheme will comprise of
Stage – 1 -Primary Treatment
Stage – 2 - Secondary Treatment
Stage – 3 - Tertiary Treatment
Effluent will be treated in effluent treatment plant (ETP) and 60% of treated waste water will be recycled/reused in cooling towers/boilers and 40% will be sent to sea for disposal after meeting the effluent discharge norms of marine disposal.
High TDS x High COD and scrubbed effluent will be neutralized in neutralization tank and stripped in*Multi-Effect evaporator (MEE) and condensate will be treated in ETP and concentrate will be sent to ATFD. High TDS effluent from utilities will be treated in neutralization tank and sent to sea for disposal. Low TDS & low COD including MEE stream condensate will be treated in neutralization tank, ETP (biological treatment) alongwith MEE condensate and treated effluent be sent to pressure sand filter activated carbon filter and cooling tower / reverse osmosis. Domestic effluent will be treated in septic tank followed by Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and treated water will be used for gardening.
*Multi Effect Evaporator plant:
At MEE one stream from solvent stripper & another from RO as reject will be collected in feed tank and jointly feed in MEE plant. In MEE plant two streams will be generated, one will be Condensate water & second will be reject (Salt). Condensate water will be reused as cooling tower makeup & reject will go for filtration. There after filtered salt will go to TSDF site and ML will go back to MEE feed tank.

Fire fighting System as per TAC norms.
Green Belt Development plan in 8.01 Ha area and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
DETAILS OF RAIN WATER HARVESTING :
Rain water harvesting system will be employed for the proposed project. Only roof top rain will be harvested. Rain water harvesting system will be employed on the administration building, raw material and finished good storage shed and plant building shed.
