     SR Distillery Plans to set up

 30 KLD Distillery with Power Plant

 

SR Distillery Pvt. Ltd . plans to set up a 30 KLD Grain/Molasses and Malt  based Distillery along with  a 1.5 MW Co-Generation Power plant at at  Barapada, Cuttack District, Orissa. 

 

 

Capacity :

Distillery                   : 30 KLD

Co-Generation          : 1.5 MW

Power Plant

Product      : Extra Neutral Alcohol Plus 

By-Product : Spent grain – 70% of input 

                            Impure spirit- 6.5% of production

 Location :  Barapada, PO: Garudagaon, Tangi

                   District : Cuttack, Orissa 

                    

As 0n  November 23, 2011 : The Project is  under Planning Stage.

 

The unit would come up on about 7 Acres of Land .

 

 Out of 7 Acres, 2.3 Acres will be developed as Green Belt.

 

IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 21.11.2011 with M/s. SR Distillery Pvt. Ltd . the Project is under planning stage.

 

The company has obtained  Environmental Clerance.

The project work is expected to start  from December,2011 .

 

The Project  is Scheduled to be  Completed 

by December,2012.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:

Boiler : 15 TPH – 1No. 

 Fuel  : Coal   ( FBC Boiler ) 

 Heat Exchangers, Air Pre-heater/Economiser)

 

Air Pollution Control Equipment :

Multi Cyclone, ESP, Wet Scrubber, Dust Collctor

 

(Dust collector system will be adopted in  milling section i.e. hammer mill and  vibratory screens.  Entire raw material handling starting from  feeding to slurry mixing tank will be carried  out in closed conveyor system)

 

The power plant will  consist of :

Coal handling system(Coal Bunker of 10 hrs storage)

(Screen, Crusher)

Ash handling system (Pneumatic type) (silo in MS)

(Pneumatic Conveying system with silo)

Feed water storage tank

Chemical dosing Tank

Self Supported Chimney (MS) with aviation Lamp and Lighting arrester – 48 mtr

LP & HP Dosing system

Microprocessor Based Control System

1) Grain Receiving, Storage and Milling

2) Process for

a. Liquefaction

b. Saccharification

c. Fermentation

3) Distillation Section

4) Decantation

5) Effluent Treatment – Evaporation Section

6) Dryer section

Grains unloaded will be  initially received by grain receiving hopper.

From receiving hopper, grains will be shifted to Storage Silo through Screw Conveyor and Bucket Elevator.

The silo to be well equipped with aeration facility so as to keep proper air

 

Pre-cleaned Grains will be fed in controlled rate to the Hammer Mill.

In this unit operation Grain will be  broken down into small particles (flour) of required size distribution.

Oversized particles are segregated with the help of

Vibratory Screen.

They will be then recycled back to the Hammer Mill through the coarse bin.

Flour from Vibratory Screen  to be collected in the Hopper and then fed to the Slurry Mixing tank at a controlled rate.

 

All the Conveyors will be covered with GI sheets to prevent the fugitive dust emission into the atmosphere.

Effluent Treatment System and Scheme

Major effluent will generated from washing, process condensate from the evaporation plant and spent lees from the distillation unit.

The unit has proposed to treat the process condensate from the evaporation plant and spent lees from Distillation plant which will be reused in the Cooling Tower make-up.

 

RO reject will be taken for reuse in ash quenching and dust suppression.

DM Plant regeneration effluent will be neutralized and used for dust suppression. Domestic effluent from plant buildings will be discharge to soak pit via septic tank.

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms and cover all areas where  alcohol is produced, handled and stored.

Provision of Foam System for Fire Fighting to control fire from the alcohol storage tank.

 

Green Belt Development plan in 2.3 Acres  area and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
