Vandana Ispat Ltd. plans set up a Integrated Steel Plant having capacity of 8,30,000 TPA along with a 120 MW (80 MW AFBC + 40MW WHRB) Captive Power Plant at Kopedih and Anjora Villages in Rajnandgao District, Chhatisgarh.

As 0n August 17, 2012 : The Project is under planning stage.
The total project is coming up in an area of 494 Acres and
165 Acres (33% of total area) of land area has been earmarked for development of Green Belt all around the project area.
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had last on 21.07.2012 with Vandana Ispat Ltd. the Project is under planning stage.
The company has obtained Environmental Clerance.
Civil work is expected to commence from August,2012.
The Project Schedule :
Complrtion Period : 4 Years.
PHASE - I : By December,2013.
PHASE - II : By December,2016.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Captive Power Plant : 120 MW
Using 40 MW WHRB & 80 MW AFBC.
1.Waste Heat Recovery Boiler: 1 No.
The hot flue gases from DRI kilns will pass through waste heat recovery Boilers to recover the heat and to generate electricity. The gases after heat recovery will pass through ESPs and then discharged through chimneys into the atmosphere for effective dispersion of emissions into the atmosphere.
2.Fluidized Bed Combustion (AFBC) Boiler: 1 No
Fuel : Coal and Char

Air Pollution Control Equipment :
Emissions will be generated from BF, Coke oven, Ferro Alloy, Pelletization Plant, Sinter Plant.
Dust extraction with bag filters will be provided to control fugitive emissions from loading / unloading and handling of coal and ash.

Iron ore (16,00,000 TPA), Mn Ore (10,00,000 TPA), Coke
(8,00,000 TPA), Coal (12,00,000 TPA), Dolomite (3,00,000 TPA) and Paste (1,00,000 TPA) will be used as raw material.

The following air pollution control systems/ measures are proposed in the Plant
1. All Conveyors will be completely covered with G.I. sheets to control fugitive
dust.
2. All bins will be totally packed and covered so that there will not be any chance
for dust leakage.
3. All the Dust Prone Points Material Handling systems to be connected with
de-dusting system with bag filters.
4. All Discharge Points and Feed points, wherever the possibility of dust
generation is there a de-dusting suction point will be provided to collect the dust.
5. The collected Dust from the Bag house of Steel Melting to be taken to a dust
storage bin through a Pneumatic Conveying system.
Water Treatment Plant :
Oxdisation Chamber, Filter, D.M. Plant
Pumps Valves, Custom Pipeline Work
The proposed project requires about 2949.99 Million Litres/day
of water.
This includes Make-up water for DRI, Power plant and Domestic water.
Source Of Water :
Water requirement will be met from Shivnath River.
Surface water quality of Shivnath River (60 m upstream and downstream)
DM water will be used for slag quenching, spray and coal cooling. Zero discharge will be adopted
Effluent Treatment Plant:
Sewage effluent will be treated and used for green belt development.
Mill scales will be sold to Ferro Alloy Plants. Fly ash brick plant will be installed to make use of ash and slag. Fly ash will also be provided to cement plant and PPC cement manufacturers. Granulated slag from Blast furnace will be used for cement making.
Washery rejects from coal washery plant, coal middlings and char will be used in AFBC power plant.

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms.
165 Acres of Greenbelt will be Developed (inclusive of existing) as per CPCB guidelines. 15 m wide greenbelt will be developed along the periphery of the plant. and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
