NV Distilleries Is Setting Up
180 KLPD Distillery Unit With CPP

NV Distilleries & Breweries (North East) Pvt. Ltd. (a subsidiary of NV Group) is setting up a 180 KLPD Grain based Distillery along with 6000 Litre/Day Malt Spirit Unit and 15 MW Cogeneration Power Plant at Bartezpur, Kamrup Dist. In Assam.
It will manufacture ENA (Extra Neutral Alcohol) & RS (Rectified Spirit).
Capacity :

Malt Spirit Unit : 15000 Litre/Day
Captive Power Plant : 10 MW

This is Further to our Earlier Report on 02.11.2010 & 25.02.2011
The Project is still under Planning Stage.
The unit would come up on about 25 Acres of Land .
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 12.01.2012 with NV Distilleries & Breweries (North East) Pvt. Ltd. the Project still is delayed and still under Panning Stage.
The company has just received the Environmental Clearance.
The Civil work is expected to soon.

The Project is Scheduled to be Completed within 12 to 15 Months from the date of the commencement of Project Work,ie. by June, 2013 .

The Main Scope of Supply includes:

( Earlier Boiler capacity was 65 TPH, as the Capacity of Captive Power Plant has been revised from
10 MW to 15 MW, Boiler capacity is now increased to 85 TPH )

Cooled Condenser :
Use of Air Cooled Condenser to be used to reduce water consumption.
All the Conveyors will be covered with GI sheets to prevent the fugitive dust emission into the atmosphere.
Air Pollution Control Equipment :
Electrostatic Precipitators/ Bag Filter
To control the particulate emissions from the Rice Husk and Coal Fired boiler will be controlled by ESP/Bag Filter and emissions will be dispersed through Stack of Suitable Height.
Steam generated from the boiler will be utilized in the generation of 15 MW Power and wil also be used for Boiler feed water heating and Distillery.
Flue gases after super heating the steam will pass through Economizer where they will Pre-Heat the boiler Feed water before it enters the boiler drum. After Economizer, flue will pass through Air Pre-Heaters where they will heat the air which will be fed to the boiler furnace for burning the fuel.
After Air Pre Heaters flue gases will pass through an Electro Static Precipitator where the Dust Particles will be collected on charged electrodes. After passing through ESP, clean flue gases with dust particle concentration also known as SPM level less than 150 mg/Nm3 through a Chimney of prescribed height.
The dust will be collected from the bottom of the ESP.
High pressure superheated steam from boiler will pass through a Steam Turbine and at the lower pressure will go to the condenser.
The part of the steam will be extracted from the extraction points provided on the turbine, which will be used for distillery.
The condensed steam will return to the steam boiler as condensate and will again be boiled as steam.
While passing through the turbine, the high pressure and temperature steam will rotate the turbine rotor and an Electric Alternator mounted on the same shaft.
Electric power will be generated by the alternator. This electric power generated will be consumed in house i.e. for running the distillery and utilities like boilers auxiliaries etc. and surplus power will be exported to the state grid.
To control the particulate emissions from the Rice Husk and Coal Fired boiler will be controlled by ESP/Bag House and emissions will be dispersed through Stack of Suitable Height.
DG set : DG sets (4 Nos) will be installed for emergency power

The fresh water requirement of the proposed project is estimated as
3072 m3/day. Water will be sourced from Ground Water as well as the Recycle Water. Detailed water balance is given in the table below:

Effluent Treatment Plant
Grain Slops (Spent Wash) will be taken through Centrifuge Decanters for separation of Suspended Solids separated as Wet Cake and which goes as cattle feed as it contains higher protein and fibre content Thin Slops from the Decanter Centrifuge are partly recycled back to process (30-35%) and partly taken to Thin Slops Evaporation Plant for concentration of remaining solids to form a Syrup. This Syrup is also mixed into the Wet Cake coming out of Centrifuge and forms part of Cattle Feed. The Process condensate is cooled and collected into a neutralization tank with sufficient residence time. After Neutralization, this process condensate will be recycled into process and is used for green belt development within the complex..

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms and cover all areas where alcohol is produced, handled and stored.
Provision of Foam System for Fire Fighting to control fire from the alcohol storage tank.
Green Belt Development plan in 33 % area
(Approx. 8 Acres) and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
