Emami Cement Plans to Set Up
2.5 MTPA Plant With 40 MW CPP
Emami Cement Limited plans to set up a Cement Plant having Capacity of 2.5 MTPA along with Coal based Captive Power Plant of 40 MW at Risda & Dhandhani Villages in Raipur District, Chhattisgarh, and 3.17 MTPA Limestone Mining Project at Risda & Kukurdih Villages, Tehsil :Baloda Bazar in Raipur District, Chhattisgarh.

Location : Villages : Risda, Dhandhani & Kukurdih
Raipur District, Chhattisgarh
As 0n August 03, 2012 : The Project is under planning stage.
Total project area for the cement plant and colony is 195.64 ha.
Out of 195.64 Ha, 115.78 Ha is private land and balance 79.86 Ha is government land.
Total limestone mine area is 395.05 ha. of this 359.65 Ha. is private land and balance 35.41 Ha. is government land.
The Cement plant and Power Plant will be located in village Risda, Railway Line Yard & Colony in Village Dhandhani, Tehsil Baloda Bazar, District Raipur Chhattisgarh.
The limestone mine is located in Kukurdih and Risda villages of Baloda Bazar Tehsil, District Raipur,Chhattisgarh.
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 18.07.2012 with Emami Cement Limited the project is under planning stage.
The company is wating for necessary approval from the Government.
The Project is Scheduled to be Completed in Two & Half Years from the date of commencement of the project.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Boiler : 90 TPH - 2 Nos
(CFBC boilers)
Fuel : Coal
Fluidized Bed Combustion Boiler:
It will be based on FBC Boiler Technology where Mixture of Coal and Middlings of Coal washery shall be used as fuel in CFBC Boilers o generate 40 MW electricity. The flue-gases will be treated in high efficiency ESP and then discharged through stack into the atmosphere.

Heat Exchangers, Air Pre-heater/Economiser) to be included both type of Boilers.
Rotary Klin: Rotary kiln with multistage preheater and
precalcinator fo Clinkerisation of the raw meal.
Kiln will be provided with Bag house, ESP for Cooler and Bag filters for Coal mill and Cement will be provided.
Manufacturing Process :
The dry process essentially consists :
Crushing of limestone
Pre-blending of crushed limestone
Drying-cum-grinding of raw materials,
Homogenization of raw meal in a blending silo, Clinkerization of the raw meal in a rotary kiln with pre-heater and pre-calcinator, Cooling of clinker in grate cooler and Grinding of Clinker.
Vertical Roller Mills will be provided for energy efficiency.Limestone, Iron ore, Bauxite, Gypsum, Gypsum, fly ash slag, coal will be used as raw material for cement plant.
Product mix will be OPC and PPC with maximum cement production of
2.5 million tonnes/annum..
The cement produced will be packed in bags, loaded into the trucks for dispatch.
Clinker - 1.98 MTPA, Gypsum - 0.125 MTPA, Slag - 0.216 M TPA and Fly Ash - 0.37 MTPA are the raw materials that would be required.

Limestone Mining:
In Lime Stone Mines Crusher will be provided with Water Spray on the Hopper and at material transfer points.
Total reserves of lime stone are 99.525 Million Tons.
Mining is by mechanized opencast method adopting a system of benches.
Bench height will be maintained at 10 m.
Hydraulic Excavators will be deployed for progressing benches and for handling ore/waste material.
Drilling and Blasting techniques will be used for hard formations.
150 mm dia. size Down
The Hole (DTH) drills machine will be used for drilling holes.
Wheel loaders/ excavators and Dumpers will be used for loading and dumping of waste material/ore.
Dumpers will be deployed for hauling limestone to the crushing plant or mineral stock and waste material to dump yards.
Crushed limestone will be transported to cement plant by Closed Conveyor.
The waste generation from the mine is about 17 million tonnes which will be stacked in about 22.84 Ha. The life of the mine is 33 years with the proposed production of 3.17 MTPA.. Limestone mine is adjacent to the cement plant.

Air Polution Control Equipment:
Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) will be provided to cement mill and power plant.
During transportation of mineral from mine to cement plant site, water will be
sprinkled on haul roads. Wet drilling will be done during dust suppression.
Water Spray will be done to control dust generated during loading, transportation, unloading and crushing etc.
The major pollutants expected from the power plant will be PM, SO2 and NOx. ESPs to cooler and CPP, bag house to kiln/raw mill and coal mill and bag filters to cement mill and packing plants will be provided to control the SPM emissions below 50 mg/m3. Efficient bag house for Kiln/Raw mill & Coal mill, ESPs for Cooler Vent and Bag filters for Cement mill, packing plants will be provided to control SPM emissions < 50 mg/m3. Fugitive emissions from Limestone handling, coal handling, clinker hopper, storage silos, weight feeders, grinding mills and packing machines will be controlled by providing covered sheds for storage of raw materials, fully covered conveyors for transportation of materials, etc.
The steam from the main steam header will be taken to the
Turbo–Generators. After rotating the turbinethe exhaust steam is
condensed in the Air Cooled Condensers and the
condensed water is pumped to the De-Aerator and fed back to the boilers.
All transfer points also will have Bag Filters. The emissions from all the Pollution Control Equipment will be restricted to less than 50 mg/nm3

DG sets will be installed for stand by arrangement..

The following air pollution control systems/ measures are proposed in the Plant
1. All Conveyors will be completely covered with G.I. sheets to control fugitive dust.
2. All bins will be totally packed and covered so that there will not be any chance for dust leakage.
3. All the Dust Prone Points Material Handling systems to be connected with de-dusting system with bag filters.
4. All Discharge Points and Feed points, wherever the possibility of dust
generation is there a de-dusting suction point will be provided to collect the dust.
5. The collected Dust from the Bag house of Steel Melting to be taken to a dust storage bin through a Pneumatic Conveying system.
Water Treatment Plant
Sand Filter, Iron Filter, ACF, DM Plant, etc.
Pumps Valves, Custom Pipeline Work
Water requirement will be 1,822 m3/day for both cement plant and power plant.
Source of Water: The water requirement will be met
from from Ground water source.
Effluent Treatment Plant
No industrial wastewater will be generated from the cement plant.
Wastewater will be generated from captive power plant, which will be treated in ETP.
the waste water will be 1151 m3/day which will be totally recirculated. Air cooled condensers will be used and Zero discharge will be maintained
All the treated wastewater will be used for Ash conditioning, dust suppression, green belt development. Oil & grease will be removed and treated in a neutralization pit. The dust collected from the various air pollution control measures like bag houses/filters, ESPs etc. will be totally recycled in the process for cement manufacturing. Fly ash will be pneumatically transported to the cement plant to be used in the cement manufacturing.
