KVK Nilachal Power Private Limited (A group company of KVK Energy & Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd) is setting up 350 MW (Phase-I) Coal based Power Plant in Kandarei Village, Cuttack District in Orissa.
Capacity :
Power Plant : 1 X 350 MW (Phase-I)
3 X 350 MW (Phase-II)

Kandarei Village, Cuttack District,Orissa.

As 0n January 06, 2011 : The Project is has done the financial closure.
The unit would come up on about 938 Acres of Land .
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 03.01.2011 with KVK Nilachal Power Private Limited the Project Work has started which is at Preliminarily Stage Only.
The entire Project is coming up on about 938 Acres of Land .
Out of 938 Acres of Land, Main Plant will be in 250 Acres, Coal Storage is in 208 Acres, Ash Disposal is in 200 Acres, Raw Water Reservior is in 56 Acres , Railway Sliding in 24 Acres, Green Belt in 200 Acres.
For Phase –I , The project work is expected to be started From April, 2011 .

The Project Work ( Phase-I) is Scheduled to be Completed by by September 2012 .
(Phase-II is targeted by by March, 2013)
On completion of both phases, KVK Nilachal will be the largest power plant in the Group’s portfolio.
The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Boiler : Fuel : Coal fired
Heat Exchanger, Air Pre- Heater/ Economiser
Turbine
The heat energy will be generated in the boiler and then converting heat
energy generated in the Boiler into mechanical energy in the turbine and further converting this mechanical energy generated in the turbine into electrical energy in the alternator. Coal will be used as fuel in the boiler.
Fuel Requirement : Phase –I : 1.91 MTPA of Coal
Phase –II : 5.75 MTPA of Coal
Air Pollution Control Equipment :
Electrostatic Precipitators/ Bag Filters/ Dust Suppression System
Total 4 nos. of High Efficiency Electro Static Precipitators (ESP) each with 6 fields (Five fields working & one standby) will be provided to bring down the Particulate emission in the exhaust gas to less than 100 mg/Nm3.
Dust Suppression System like fog type and water spray system will be
installed in the material unloading areas like fog type and water spray system will be

Cooling Tower
Water Treatment Plant
Filters, DM Plant, Clarifier/ Deselination Plant (Sea Water Treatment) etc,etc
Pumps Valves, Custom Pipeline Work
The water required for the entire project will be 1,10,400 Cum/day (45 Cusecs) :
Cooling Towers make-up 96360 Cum/Day
DM water for Boilers Make-up 3840 Cum/Day
DM plant regeneration 360 Cum/Day
Clarifier sludge loss 1440 Cum/Day
Service Water 1800 Cum/Day
AC & Vent. 6000 Cum/Day
Filter backwash 480 Cum/Day
Domestic (Plant & Colony) 120 Cum/Day

The water required for the project will be met from Mahanadi River.
A dedicated Pipeline of 12 Kms. will be laid from the river bed to the plant site.

2 .Boilers blowdown 2688 Cum/Day
3 .D.M. plant regeneration water 360 Cum/Day
4 .Service water 1800 Cum/Day
5. Clarifer Sludge 1440 Cum/Day
6. Filter backwash 480 Cum/Day
7. Sanitary Waste water 96 Cum/Day

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms.
Green Belt Development plan in 200 Acres area Rain water harvesting pits will be constructed to harvest the roof top water inconsultation with State Ground Water Board.
