Coromandel Sugars Limited plans to set up  a 45 KLD Distillery along with  30 MW Co-Generation Power Plant in Mandya District, Karnataka. 

It will manufacture ENA (Extra Neutral Alcohol) / RS (Rectified Spirit).

 

Capacity :

Distillery                   : 45 KLD

Co-Gen Power Plant : 30 MW

(Bagasse/Coal Based)

 

The plant will run  : 300 Days/ Year.

 

Location : Village Mokavalli, K.R.Pet Taluk

                 Mandya District, Karnataka.

 

About Coromandel Sugar Limited :

Coromandel Sugars Limited  (formerly M/s ICL Sugar Limited) is an associate company of  India Cements Group. 

Coromandel Sugars Limited  is an existing Sugar Plant of 3500 TCD Capacity at Village Mokavalli, K.R.Pet Taluk  Mandya District, Karnataka. 

                    

As 0n  December 01, 2011 : The Project is under Planning Stage .

 

The unit would come up within the premises of its existing Sugar Plant of 3500 TCD Capacity at Village Mokavalli, K.R.Pet Taluk  Mandya District, Karnataka. 

 

IMPORTANT: As per the the discussion we had

on 24.11.2011 with Coromandel Sugars Limited

 the Project  is  under Panning Stage.

 

The company is waiting for the clearance from State Pollution Control

Authority.

 

The company is procuring some of the equipments from Germany and 

most of the  equipments will be procured locally (Indigenous).

The Civil work likely to  start from January,2012 .

 

The Project   is Scheduled to be  Completed in
18 months from the date of commencement, ie,

June, 2013.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:

Boiler    : 18 TPH   For Distillery Plant

(Spent Wash Fired Boiler)

(Incineration Boiler with 1.5 MW Turbo Generator)

Fuel :  479 Tons/ Day of Spent wash will be generated from Molasses based alchohol or 450 Tons/ Day from Malt Spirit will be  evaporated and concentrated spent wash will be burnt as  fuel in the boiler.

Quantity      : 1560 Ton/Day / 576 Ton/Day

Stack Height   : 89 Meter

 

Heat Exchanger, Air Pre- Heater/ Economiser

Cane  Molasses /Maize  :   192 Tonnes/ Day.

Nutrients                            :   120 Kgs/ Day.

Antifoam Oil                      :   100 Kgs/ Day.

Sulphuric Acid                    :   100 Kgs/ Day.

Air Pollution Control Equipment :

Electrostatic Precipitators/ Bag Filter

 

To control the particulate emissions from

Bagasse/ Imported Coal

will be controlled by ESP and emissions will be dispersed through Stack Height  of 
89 Meters.

 

Flue gases after super heating the steam will pass through Economizer where they will  Pre-Heat the boiler Feed water before it enters the boiler drum. After Economizer, flue will pass through Air Pre-Heaters where they will heat the air which will be  fed to the boiler furnace for burning the fuel.

 

After Air Pre Heaters flue gases will pass through an Electro Static Precipitator where the Dust Particles will be  collected on charged electrodes. After passing through ESP, clean flue gases with dust particle concentration also known as SPM level less than 50 mg/Nm3 through a Chimney of prescribed height.

The dust will be  collected from the bottom of the ESP.

 

High pressure superheated steam from boiler will pass through a Steam Turbine and at the lower pressure will go to the condenser.

The part of the steam will be extracted from the extraction points provided on the turbine, which will be used for distillery.

 

The condensed steam will return to the steam boiler as condensate and will again be boiled as steam.

 

While passing through the turbine, the high pressure and temperature steam will rotate the turbine rotor and an Electric Alternator mounted on the same shaft.

 

Electric power will be generated by the alternator. This electric power generated will be consumed in house i.e. for running the distillery and utilities like boilers auxiliaries etc. and surplus power will be exported to the state grid.

Cooled Condenser  :

Use of Air Cooled Condenser to be used to reduce water consumption.

 

All the Conveyors will be covered with GI sheets to prevent the fugitive dust emission into the atmosphere.

The Raw Effluent will be collected  in a Collection Tank after passing through the Screen Chamber.

From this collection Tank Raw Effluent to be pumped to the Mixing Tank for netrilizing pH by addition of lime.

From this tank  to be passed to the Anaerobic by Two Stage  Aerobic and Clarifier.

 

 Other Equipments:

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms and cover all areas where  alcohol is produced, handled and stored.

 

Provision of Foam System for Fire Fighting to control fire from the alcohol storage tank.

 

Green Belt Development plan in 33 % area 

and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
