Shree Rupanadham Steel Private Limited plans for Major Expansion of its Steel Plant that involves increasing the capacity of TMT Bars / Structural Steels / Wire Rod Unit from 4800 TPA to 94,800 TPA and MS Billets Unit from 33,500 TPA to 1,23,500 TPA and setting up a New 90,000 TPA Sponge Iron Plant and a 18 MW Captive Power Plant at Saraipalli in Raigarh District, Chhattisgarh.

As on February 07, 2014 : The Project is in planning stage.
The expansion of the entire unit will come up on company’s existing
27.52 Acres of Land .
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had last on 29.01.2014 with of Shree Rupanadham Steel Private Limited, the Project is still under planning stage.
The company has already obtained the MoEF Clearance .
But the project is delayed due to shortage of Power Supply.
However, the project work is expected to start by Mid of 2015.
The Project is Scheduled to be Completed in
One & Half year from the date of commencement of Project work.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Captive Power Plant :
1.Waste Heat Recovery Boiler:
The hot flue gases from DRI kilns will pass through waste heat recovery Boilers to recover the heat and to generate 6.0 MW electricity. The gases after heat recovery will pass through ESPs and then discharged through chimneys into the atmosphere for effective dispersion of emissions into the atmosphere.
2.Fluidized Bed Combustion (FBC) Boiler:
Total dolochar generated will be used in AFBC Boilers along with coal to generate
12 MW electricity. The flue-gases will be treated in high efficiency ESP and then discharged through stack into the atmosphere.

Heat Exchangers, Air Pre-heater/Economiser) to be included both type of Boilers.
3. Turbo Generators : 2 Nos

Steel Melting Shop:
Induction Furnace : 15 Tons -2 Nos
There will be 2 nos. of induction furnaces of 15 MT each.
Concast will be used to produce Billets.
Initially scrap & other metallics such as Sponge Iron / Pig Iron will be charged into the Induction furnace. After scrap & other metallics are fully melted, the temperature of the melt reaches above 1600oC, then DRI / Pig Iron will be continuously charged into the furnace
SPONGE IRON (DRI) Unit
Rotary Kilns : 3 Nos
Refractory lined rotary kilns will be used for reduction of Pellets in solid state.
A central Burnerlocated at the discharge end will be used for initial heating of the kiln.Pellets will be continuously fed into the kiln along with coal which has dual role of fuel as well as reductant. Dolomite will be added to scavenge the sulphur from the coal.
Air Pollution Control Equipment :
Electrostatic Precipitators/ Bag Filters
The plant shall be provided with Electrostatic Precipitators
having high efficiency (above 99.98%) for collection of the fly ash that would
be produced from the Process of coal combustion in Boiler Furnace.
An Electro Static Precipitator would be provided for the cleaning / detarring of the Producer gas and the flue gases.
Coal from the coal yard will be crushed in a Crusher and conveyed to coal storage bunkers of Boilers through a system of Conveyor Belts, Crusher and Vibrating Screens and is fed to the furnace.
ESP, Dust Extraction systems for Conveyor Transfer Points, Crusher and Screen house with Hoods, Bag filter and Fans will be provided.
De-mineralised water from the storage tank will be pumped to the boiler with the
aid of Boiler Feed Pump. The boiler feed water through an Economizer will
the Steam drum and water walls where it is heated and converted to
saturated steam.
The steam from the main steam header will be taken to the
Turbo–Generators. After rotating the turbinethe exhaust steam is
condensed in the Air Cooled Condensers and the
condensed water is pumped to the De-Aerator and fed back to the boilers.

The following air pollution control systems/ measures are proposed in the Plant
1. All Conveyors will be completely covered with G.I. sheets to control fugitive
dust.
2. All bins will be totally packed and covered so that there will not be any chance for dust leakage.
3. All the Dust Prone Points Material Handling systems to be connected with
de-dusting system with bag filters.
4. All Discharge Points and Feed points, wherever the possibility of dust
generation is there a de-dusting suction point will be provided to collect the dust.
5. The collected Dust from the Bag house of Steel Melting to be taken to a dust storage bin through a Pneumatic Conveying system.
Water Treatment Plant :
Oxdisation Chamber, Filter, D.M. Plant
Pumps Valves, Custom Pipeline Work
The proposed project requires about 835 Cum/Day of water.
This includes Make-up water for DRI, SMS, Rolling Mill, Power plant and Domestic water.
Details of Water Requirement
1.Cooling water Make-up for DRI plant : 100 M3
2.Cooling water make-up for SMS : 100 M3
3.Cooling water make-up for Rolling Mill : 25 M3
4. POWER PLANT : *500 M3
a. Cooling Tower Make-up (340 M3)
b. Boilers make-up (140 M3)
c. D.M. plant regeneration ( 20M3)
5. Domestic : 10M3

* Note: Air Cooled condensers are proposed to be adopted in the power plant instead of water cooled condensers with cooling towers.
Details of Waste Water Generation
Boiler Blowdown, Cooling Tower Blowdown & DM Plant regeneration will be the sources of effluent generation from the power plant.
The following will be the total wastewater & it’s break-up:
1. POWER PLANT
a. Cooling Tower Make-up : 75 M3
b. Boilers make-up : 35 M3
c. D.M. Pant Rgeneration : 20 M3
5. Domestic : 8 M3

Effluent Treatment Plant:
The treated effluent will be utilized for Dust Suppression, Ash conditioning and for Green belt development. No effluent will be let out of the plant premises. Hence Zero discharge concept will be implemented. Sanitary waste water will be treated in Septic tank followed by soak pit.

Material Handling Equipment : Conveyor, Hydraulic Equipment/Cranes,
DG Set, Air Compressor. Gear Box, Insulation, Valves, Pipes & Tubes, Cables, Automatic Weighing Machines for Bulk & Liquid Materials. Pressure Filler, Storage Tank, Cooling Tower/ Plant, Air Conditioning Plant,
Complete Laboratory Equipments etc
Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms.
9.0 Acres of Greenbelt will be Developed (inclusive of existing) as per CPCB guidelines. 15 m wide greenbelt will be developed along the periphery of the plant. and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.

Construction of Office Building, Factory Shed- Boiler House, Substation-Control Panel- Electrical Work, Plumbing Work, Structural Steel fabrication and Erection Work, Fabrication Storage Tank, Vessels etc. etc.
