40 KLD Distillery with 1.2 MW CPP

Gwalior Distilleries Limited plans to set up a 40 KLPD Grain Based Distillery along with 1.2 MW Co-generation Power Plant (Biomass/Coal based) at Didee Village,Tahsil Bhind in Bhind District, Madhya Pradesh.

Location : Village Didee , Tahsil Bhind
Bhind District, Madhya Pradesh.
As 0n December 30, 2011 : The Project is under Planning Stage .
The unit would come up on about 9.23 Acres of Land .
Green belt will be developed in 33 % area.
IMPORTANT: As per the the discussion we had
on 21.12.2011 with Gwalior Distilleries Limited
the Project is under Panning Stage.
The Project is Scheduled to be Completed by
December, 2013.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Boiler : 1 No.

Total Steam required : 254 MT/day
Fuel : Rice husk / Coal
Quantity : 65 Ton/Day / 51 Ton/Day
Heat Exchanger, Air Pre- Heater/ Economiser

Raw Materials :
Cereal grains @ 31500 MT; Sorghum, Maize and Bajara) will used as raw materials.

Air Pollution Control Equipment :
Electrostatic Precipitators/ Bag Filter
To control the particulate emissions from
Rice husk / Coal
will be controlled by ESP and emissions will be dispersed through adequate Stack Height.
Flue gases after super heating the steam will pass through Economizer where they will Pre-Heat the boiler Feed water before it enters the boiler drum. After Economizer, flue will pass through Air Pre-Heaters where they will heat the air which will be fed to the boiler furnace for burning the fuel.
After Air Pre Heaters flue gases will pass through an Electro Static Precipitator where the Dust Particles will be collected on charged electrodes. After passing through ESP, clean flue gases with dust particle concentration also known as SPM level less than 50 mg/Nm3 through a Chimney of prescribed height.
The dust will be collected from the bottom of the ESP.
High pressure superheated steam from boiler will pass through a Steam Turbine and at the lower pressure will go to the condenser.
The part of the steam will be extracted from the extraction points provided on the turbine, which will be used for distillery.
The condensed steam will return to the steam boiler as condensate and will again be boiled as steam.
While passing through the turbine, the high pressure and temperature steam will rotate the turbine rotor and an Electric Alternator mounted on the same shaft.
Electric power will be generated by the alternator. This electric power generated will be consumed in house i.e. for running the distillery and utilities like boilers auxiliaries etc. and surplus power will be exported to the state grid.

Cooled Condenser :
Use of Air Cooled Condenser to be used to reduce water consumption.
All the Conveyors will be covered with GI sheets to prevent the fugitive dust emission into the atmosphere.

DG set : 500 KVA (1 No.) will be installed for emergency power Back-up during power failure:
Stack : Adequate height of Stack with suitable acoustic
measures to be provided.

The total water requirement will be met from Ground Source.
Total ground water requirement will be 502 m3/day.
However company I strying to explore the possibility of water from Chambal River at 12 Km or Canal (2-3 km) and change source accordingly.
Fresh water requirement should be restricted upto 10 Kl/Kl of alcohol for grain based distillery.
Effluent Treatment Plant
Effluent treatment system for grain based distillery (spent wash and spent lees) alongwith utility wastewater including CPP to be installed for achieving zero discharge.
Spent wash generation should not exceed
6 KL/KL of alcohol production.
EMP should also include the concept of waste-minimization, recycle/reuse/ recover techniques, Energy conservation, and natural resource conservation.
Non-process effluent like DM plant, Regeneration water & Boiler Blow Down will be neutralized in neutralization in neutralization tanks and will be mixed with Cooling Tower Blow down..
Ash from coal will be given to brick manufacturers/cement plant. Ash from biomass will be utilized as manure.

Straight Line Steam Tunnel, Pneumatic Piston Filler, Pressure Filler,Storage Tank, Cooling Tower/ Plant, Air Conditioning Plant, Complete Laboratory Equipments etc
Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms and cover all areas where alcohol is produced, handled and stored.
Provision of Foam System for Fire Fighting to control fire from the alcohol storage tank.
