Granules India Ltd. plans to expand the production capacity of its  Synthetic Organic Chemicals and intermediates –API and Pharmaceutical Formulation Ingredients (PFI) manufacturing Unit from  22.2 TPM to 725 TPM at Jeedimetla Village Tehsil : Qutubullapur Mandal in Rangareddy District, Telangana.

 

Capacity Expansion :  

 

Synthetic Organic Chemicals and intermediates –API  
Pharmaceutical Formulation Ingredients (PFI) 

From 22 Ton/Month  to 725 Ton/Month       

Following Products will be manufactured  after expansion :      

  1. Guaifenesin                                            :          150  Ton/Month
  2. Methocarbamol                                   :          50     Ton/Month
  3. Metformin HCl                                   :         375 Ton/Month
  4. Pharmaceutical Form. Ing.(PFI) :         150  Ton/Month

                     Rangareddy District, Telangana.

As on  November 11, 2014 : The Project is under Planning Stage .

 

Total  existing site area is  2.5 Acres.

The expansion will come up on its  existing Area only.

 

IMPORTANT: As per the the discussion we had

on 05.11.2014 with  Granules India Ltd.   the Project  is  under Panning Stage.

 

The company is waiting for Environmental Clearance.

The Project Work is likely to start in Early, 2015.

 

The Expansion Project  is Scheduled to be  Completed

in  9 - 12 Months from the date of commencement of the project.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:

Multicyclone Separator & Bag Filter


There will be  flue gas stacks  for Boiler  which are the main emission source from the plant.

Proper Stack height and air pollution control measures  Bag Filter)  will be provided in order to achieve norms prescribed by statutory authority. 

All the emissions from process are controlled by providing 

Wet Scrubbers.

Presently the company is  operating  Two Nos. of Boilers of  following Capacities: 

1.Boiler 

Capacity : 3 TPH - 1 No.

Fuel   :  Coal 

Stack :  Height- 30 Meters / Dia: 1.3 Meter

2. Boiler 

Capacity : 1 TPH - 1 No.

Fuel   :  Coal 

Stack :  Height- 30 Meters / Dia: 0,5 Meter

 Note3TPH Coal fired boiler will  be removed  

            and  1 TPH Boiler will be kept as standby.

Manufacturing Process
 Process Description for Metformin HCl

Dicyandiamide and Dimethylamine HCL charged in Dimethylformamide and Toluene. 
After completion of azeotropic separation of water, the mass is treated with activated carbon
Then requisite quantity of Toluene is added and spent carbon is separated by filtration
The liquid is refluxed and Toluene is distilled out and maintained for 4-5 Hrs at 140-142 oC for completion of the condensation (reaction). 
It is further processed to crystallize the product and centrifuged to get the final product. 
The MLs are distilled to recover a mixture of DMF & Methanol which will be  recycled.

The Total Water requirement after expansion  will be 353.9 m3/Day.

(Present Consumption : 95 m3/Day

 

Out of  353.9 m3 :   214 m3 shall be fresh water and will be  drawn from HMWS&B (Industrial supply) and balance shall be recycled water.

The effluent generated from the proposed expansion will be  mainly from process, washings (floor & Lab washings), DM and softener rejects, scrubbers, cooling towers & boiler blow downs and domestic effluent. HTDS effluents are sent to Effluent treatment plant consist of Stripper, Multiple Effect Evaporator followed by ATFD, Biological treatment and RO. LTDS effluents are sent to Biological treatment system followed by RO. The treated effluent shall be reused for cooling towers, boiler, washings and scrubbers..

MEE Condensate will be Reused


LTDS/LCOD :Collection> ETP(Biological Treatment) > Sand
