      Archean Chemical Setting Up

  3,00,000 TPA Chem Fertilizer Plant   

                                      

Archean Chemical Industries Pvt. Ltd  is  setting Sulphate Of  a Potash (SOP)  manufacturing Unit having capacity of  3,00,000 TPA ( in Two Phases) along with a Captive Power Plant ( Proposed) at the Rann of Kachchh in Gujrat.

 

Besides SOP, the facility will also produce Industrial Salt Bromine, Magnesium oxide and Gypsum in the process.

Phase I   

Sulphate Of  a Potash (SOP)  : 1,00,000 TPA  

Liquid Bromine                         : 12,500 TPA

Green Bromine                         : 2500 TPA

Epsomite                                    : 8100 TPA

 

PhaseII  :  2,00,000 TPA (SOP)

Greater Rann of Kachchh, NearHajipir, Taluka Bhuj, District Kachchh, Gujarat

As 0n  January 19, 2011 : The company has achieved financial closure for

                                            the project.

 The  project would come up on about 262 Hectares of Land .

 

(Administration Building 7,675 sq. mts, Manufacturing Building 1,22,300 sq. mts,
Utilities section 30,815 sq. mts, Raw + finished good stores 1,48,350 sq. mts,
Water & Waste water treatment 16,375 sq. mts, Hazardous waste storage area
6,000 sq. mts, Green Belt (33% of the plant area - 62 hectares) 2,04,600 sq. mts,
Open area  83,885 sq. mts, Total Production Area 6,20,000 sq. mts,

IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 15.01.2011 with  Archean Chemical Industries Pvt. Ltd ,  the Project is at initial Stage now. 


The company has just achieved financial closure for the project.

 

A consortium of Banks, led by Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank and Union Bank of India, has agreed to extend the for this Project.  

 

The Project  Work ( Phase –I) is Scheduled to be  Completed by by First Quarter of 2012 .

 

The Main Scope of Supply includes:

Boiler : 30 TPH (without Cogeneration)/

               60 TPH (with Cogeneration)

               Fuel : Coal + Lignite

 

Heat Exchanger, Air Pre- Heater/ Economiser

 

DG Set : (Standby Power Arrangement)

750 KVA -3 Nos

Stack height :11 mtrs., No. of Stacks : 3 Nos.

 

Steam turbine

Alternators

Coal handling system

Ash handling system

Air Cooled Condenser

Power plant stack (110 m Height)

Fuel system

Air Pollution Control Equipment :

High Efficiency Electro Static Precipitators (ESP)

Bag Filters/ Scrubbers

 

Emissions from Boiler :
In case the GEB grid power is utilized and available then a 30 TPH Boiler will be installed.

In another case, a 60 TPH Boiler will be installed with cogeneration facility to
generate power.

 

The Co-generation system to generate power from high pressure steams to run the
Steam Turbines and Alternators will be provided. The high pressure steam will be used to run Turbines and Alternator and Low Pressure Steams which comes out from turbine exhaust will be used for the processing. The High Pressure Steams will run the Turbines and Alternators and will produce
10 MW electricity.

Coal and Lignite will be used as fuel for the proposed project.

The fly ash generated will be sold to brick manufacturers.

To control the particulate matter ESP will be installed.

 

N.B: In either case only one boiler will be installed.

 

Scrubber

A scrubber will be attached to the Bromine Bottling section to capture the bromine gas liberated in the process. It will be scrubbed using a packed tower primary scrubber (1 no.’s) followed by secondary packed tower scrubber with caustic soda as scrubbing medium. The scrubber bleed will be recycled as the process feed.

Use of Limestone in boiler to limit SO2 emission

Use of Air Cooled Condenser to reduce water

ESP to minimize the emission of particulate matter.

Dust Control System to minimize the fugitive dust.

Dust Suppression System like fog type and water spray system will be

installed in the material unloading areas like fog type and water spray system will be

installed in the material unloading areas.

Water will be sprayed to control the dust The conveyor

belts will be covered from all sides with provision of

access doors. Spillages will be removed once in 15 days

• Spray system will be employed for dust suppression

 

All the Conveyors will be covered with GI sheets to prevent the fugitive dust emission into the atmosphere.

The proposed water requirement will be 14,467 KL/day. The water will be sourced from Sea Water.

A Desalination (RO) plant will be installed for water requirement and the reject will be taken to solar evaporation ponds.

Waste Water & Effluent Treatment Plant:

About 11,313.4 KL/day of wastewater will be neutralized in the Effluent Treatment Plant. The ETP will comprise of neutralization with lime and settling tanks.

The Boiler / cooling water blowdown will be taken to 2- Consecutive Cooling Ponds, and then to Guard Pond. From Guard Pond the water will be used for green belt. The domestic sewage will be treated in Sewage Treatment Plant and discharged for green belt.

LABORATORY FACILITIES :

The effluent quality will be analyzed daily in the plant’s laboratory.

The laboratory will be equipped with the necessary equipment, necessary glassware & chemicals for routine analysis.

All charts and records will be maintained carefully for future reference.

The air quality analysis incidental to the monitoring programme and other activities such as solid wastes analysis, noise level measurement will be given to an external agency.

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms.

 

* An elaborate fire hydrant system covering all the buildings of the proposed power   plant as well as outlying areas including coal stockyard would be provided.

 

Rain water will be stored in a tank for further distribution to fire water storage tank and service water overhead tank.

In addition to the Fire Hydrant System, the following fire protection systems are proposed:

* Automatic High Velocity Water Spray (HVWS) System for the protection of

transformers;

* Automatic Medium Velocity Water Spray (MVWS) System and foam system for fuel oil tanks;

* Automatic MVWS system for coal conveyors, cable galleries, etc.;

* Automatic Sprinkler systems for certain select areas;

* Manual HVWS system for the protection of Turbine Oil Tanks; and

* Portable extinguishers and fire Protection as required

 

Green Belt Development plan in 62 Acres area Rain water harvesting pits will be constructed to harvest the roof top water inconsultation with State Ground Water Board.
