NV Distilleries & Breweries (North East) Pvt. Ltd.
(a subsidiary of NV Group) plans to set up a 120 KLPD Grain based Distillery along along with and 11 MW Captive Plant at Village Chilam & Udham Bigha, Tehsil :Sherghati, District: Gaya, Bihar.
This plant will produce ENA (Extra Neutral Alcohol), RS (Rectified Spirit) & Ethanol.

Bottling Plant

DDGS(Distilleries Dried Grain with Solubles)
CO2 Recovery Plant:
CO2 will be recovered in CO2 recovery plant and will be given to Bottling Plant.

As 0n August 21, 2012 : The Project is under Planning Stage.
Total plot area is 25.313 ha.
6.01 ha land will be required for project.
Greenbelt will be developed in 2.0 ha of the area.
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 16.08.2012 with NV Distilleries & Breweries (North East) Pvt. Ltd. the Project is under Panning Stage now.
The project work is yet to start.
The Project is Scheduled to be Completed in One Year from the date of the commencement of Project Work,ie. Latest by March, 2014 .

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Boiler : 75 TPH
Fuel : Rice Husk/ Coal
Heat Exchanger, Air Pre- Heater/ Economiser
Raw Material :
Grains (maize, corn, sorghum grain, broken rice and starch based gains) will be used as raw materials.
Steam turbine
Coal handling system
Ash handling system
Air Cooled Condenser
Power plant stack

Cooled Condenser :
Use of Air Cooled Condenser to be used to reduce water consumption.
All the Conveyors will be covered with GI sheets to prevent the fugitive dust emission into the atmosphere.
Air Pollution Control Equipment :
Electrostatic Precipitators/ Bag Filter
To control the particulate emissions from the Rice Husk and Coal Fired boiler will be controlled by ESP/Bag Filter and emissions will be dispersed through Stack of Suitable Height.
Steam generated from the boiler will be utilized in the generation of
11 MW Power and wil also be used for Boiler feed water heating and Distillery.
Flue gases after super heating the steam will pass through Economizer where they will Pre-Heat the boiler Feed water before it enters the boiler drum. After Economizer, flue will pass through Air Pre-Heaters where they will heat the air which will be fed to the boiler furnace for burning the fuel.
After Air Pre Heaters flue gases will pass through an Electro Static Precipitator where the Dust Particles will be collected on charged electrodes. After passing through ESP, clean flue gases with dust particle concentration also known as SPM level less than 50 ug/Nm3 through a Chimney of prescribed height.
The dust will be collected from the bottom of the ESP.
High pressure superheated steam from boiler will pass through a Steam Turbine and at the lower pressure will go to the condenser.
The part of the steam will be extracted from the extraction points provided on the turbine, which will be used for distillery.
The condensed steam will return to the steam boiler as condensate and will again be boiled as steam.
While passing through the turbine, the high pressure and temperature steam will rotate the turbine rotor and an Electric Alternator mounted on the same shaft.
Electric power will be generated by the alternator. This electric power generated will be consumed in house i.e. for running the distillery and utilities like boilers auxiliaries etc. and surplus power will be exported to the state grid.
To control the particulate emissions from the Rice Husk and Coal Fired boiler will be controlled by ESP/Bag House and emissions will be dispersed through Stack of Suitable Height.
DG set : DG sets (3 Nos) will be installed for emergency power

DG sets : 1250 KVA - 2 Nos *( Stack Height : 8 mt. Each)
500 KVA - 1 No *( Stack Height : 7 mt.)

The fresh water requirement of the proposed project is estimated as
1680 m3/day.
Water will be sourced from Ground Water as well as the Recycle Water.
Effluent Treatment Plant
Spent wash will be restricted to 6 KL/KL of alcohol production.
Spent wash will be passed through decanter and then thin slop from decanter will be dried in Multi-Effect evaporator (MEE) followed by dryer upto 90% solids w/w to form DDGS and sold to outside parties.
Non-process effluent like DM Plant regeneration water and boiler blow down will be neutralized in neutralization tanks and mixed with cooling tower blow down and used for green belt development. No effluent will be discharged outside the premises and Zero discharge will be adopted.
Domestic effluent will be treated in septic tank followed by soak pit. A spent wash storage lagoons (5 days capacity) will be provided.
Fly ash generated (47520 TPA by coal or 25344 TPA) will be managed safely in brick manufacturers/cement plants. DWGS will be sold as cattle feed. Waste oil will be sold to authorized recyclers/re-processors.

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms and cover all areas where alcohol is produced, handled and stored.
Provision of Foam System for Fire Fighting to control fire from the alcohol storage tank.
Green Belt Development plan in 2.0 ha and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
