Hothur Ispat Is Setting Up 82,500 TPA
Steel Plant With 20 MW Power Plant
Hothur Ispat Private Limited is setting up a Mini Integrated Steel Plant to produce Bars and Rods in size range from 8 to 32 mm with an Annual production capacity of 82,500 Tons along with a 20 MW Coal based Power Plant in Bellary District, Karnataka.
Location :
Veniveerapura Village,Bellary District,Karnataka
The unit would come up on about 144 Acres of Land .
Out of 144 Acres : Plant area 65 Acres, Storage of Water
3 Acres, Storage of Coal 1 Acre 1 Acre, Solid Waste Storage 10 Acres,
Ash Pond / Disposal 2 Acres, Area for Green Belt 61 Acres,
Approach and internal Road 2 Acres.
IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 25.02.2011 with Hothur Ispat Private Limited the Project is under planning stage.
The company is waiting for MoEF Clerance and the clerance is expected by March,2011.
The Project is Scheduled to be Completed within 1(one) year from the date of commencement.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:
Captive Power Plant :
1.Waste Heat Recovery Boilers : 3 Nos
one for each Kiln, each with a capacity of 10 TPH at 66 Ksca
and 490 Deg C in bypass configuration at the downstream of ABC to
recover sensible heat of Kiln off gases.
2.Fluidized Bed Combustion(FBC)Boiler:1 No.
For utilizing coal, Coal fines and char as fuel with a capacity of
60 TPH (MCR) at 66 Ksca and 490 Deg C.
3. Turbo Generators : 2 Nos
Each capacity : 10 MW Each capacity with steam inlet
conditions of 65 Ksca at 490 Deg C with water cooled condenser.
Induction Furnace : 2 X 15 Tons
Heat Exchangers, Air Pre-heater/Economiser)
Air Pollution Control Equipment :
Electrostatic Precipitators/ Bag Filters
The plant shall be provided with Electrostatic Precipitators
having high efficiency (above 99.98%) for collection of the fly ash that would
be produced from the Process of coal combustion in Boiler Furnace.
An Electro Static Precipitator would be provided for the cleaning / detarring of the Producer gas and the flue gases.
Coal from the coal yard will be crushed in a Crusher and conveyed to coal storage bunkers of Boilers through a system of Conveyor Belts, Crusher and Vibrating Screens and is fed to the furnace.
ESP, Dust Extraction systems for Conveyor Transfer Points, Crusher and Screen house with Hoods, Bag filter and Fans will be provided.
De-mineralised water from the storage tank will be pumped to the boiler with the
aid of Boiler Feed Pump. The boiler feed water through an Economizer will
the Steam drum and water walls where it is heated and converted to
saturated steam.
The steam from the main steam header will be taken to the
Turbo–Generators. After rotating the turbinethe exhaust steam is
condensed in the Air Cooled Condensers and the
condensed water is pumped to the De-Aerator and fed back to the boilers.
Fuel Requirement :
The non-coking coal requirement for CPP and coal gas plant
52300 Tons/year.
The coal Crushing and Screening plant of the Sponge Iron Plant will yield
around 19,300 Tons of fines and the same will be used in the CPP and
coal gas plant.
Hence, the net coal requirement for CPP and coal gas plant after using
the fines will be about 33000 Tons/year.

Effluent Treatment Plant:
Effluents from water treatment plant: The effluents from Cation/Anion
Resins are combined with the Filter Back wash in the neutralizing pit and by
way of giving Additional Treatment as may be necessary, the effluents are
treated to make them hazard free. This neutralized water will be used for Ash
moistening and spraying on roads and coal for dust suppression.
Waste Water Disposal in the Power Plant :
The waste water collected from Cooling Tower, Boilers, Ash handling, Domestic Waste and D.M. Plant is collected in neutralization-cum-settling tank and then to the collection-cumstorage tank from where it is further used for fly ash wetting, dust suppression in coal yard, as fire hydrant and for gardening.
Sewage Treatment Plant :
The disposal of the domestic sewage from the plant would be through the closed drainage system Sewage treatment plant.

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms.
Green Belt Development plan in 61 Acres area and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
