   Cement Plant With 25 MW CPP

 

MSP Steel & Power Limited  is setting up  a Greenfield Integrated Cement Plant comprising of Clinker 1.0 MTPA, Cement 1.52 MTPA along with  Coal Based Captive Power Plant : 25 MW  in Rajnandgaon District, Chhattisgarh.

 

Capacity :

Cement Plant   : 1.52 MTPA 

Clinker              : 1.0 MTPA 

 

Captive  Power Plant     :  25 MW

  (Coal Based)

 

 

Location :   Villages Baghera, Nawagaon and Muripar

                    Rajnandgaon District, Chhattisgarh

 

As 0n  September 05, 2011 :  The  Project is  under  planning stage.

 

The project is coming up on about 269.3 Acres of land.

Out of this 33% of the area will be developed as Green Belt

IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had on 25.08.2011 with  MSP Steel & Power Limited  the project is under planning stage.

 

The project work is likely to start within 2 to 3 Months.

 

The Project   is Scheduled to be  Completed in Two & Half Years from the date of commencement of the project,ie, By March,2014 (tentatively) .

The Main Scope of Supply includes:

Boiler ( For CPP) – Coal Fired

It will be based on FBC Boiler Technology where Mixture of Coal and Middlings of Coal washery shall be used as fuel.

 

Rotary Klin: Rotary kiln with multistage preheater and 

precalcinator fo Clinkerisation of the raw meal.

 

The clinker will be grinded and mixed with fly ash to produce 1.52 MTPA Cement (PPC).

 

Manufacturing Process :

The manufacturing process involves crushing of limestone, grinding of raw materials, homogenization of raw meal, pyroprocessing, clinker making, clinker storage, and cooling, cement making and blending with fly ash, packing and dispatch.

 

Limestone, Gypsum, Iron Ore, Coal, are the raw materials required for the project. Raw materials (except limestone) would be transported by rail. Limestone will be brought from Achholi mines by road. Achholi limestone mines are located about 37 km away from the site in district Durg.

 

Dry process will be used for cement production.

Vertical Roller Mill will be provided for Drying and Grinding the raw materials.

Bended raw material will be fed to Pyro-Processing section (kiln) and heated at 14500C for clinker formation.  Clinker will be cooled and ground at closed circuit ball mills.

 

In Captive Power Plant, chemical energy of coal will be converted to heat energy for steam generation which will be used to cement mechanical energy in a turbine to electrical energy.

 

In Lime Stone Mines Crusher will be provided with Water Spray on the Hopper and at material transfer points.

Air Polution Control Equipment:

Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) will be provided to cement mill and power plant. 

During transportation of mineral from mine to cement plant site, water will be

sprinkled on haul roads. Wet drilling will be done during dust suppression.

Water Spray will be done to control dust generated during loading, transportation,

unloading and crushing etc. 

The key emissions generated from Plant process & Limestone mining (i.e.

drilling, blasting, loading, haulage and other transport activities during mine

operation) are particulate matter, Oxides of Nitrogen (NOX) and Sulphur dioxide

(SO2). High efficiency ESP/bag house will be installed with boilers, cooler, kiln,

coal mill and cement mill to meet the PM (Particulate Matter) emission level of

less than the prescribed limit. Fugitive emission shall be controlled by proper

covered storage facilities for raw material & product. Proper water sprinkling shall

be carried out at the mine site & material transfer points.

De-mineralised water from the storage tank will be pumped to the boiler with the

aid of Boiler Feed Pump. The boiler feed water through an Economizer will

the Steam drum and water walls where it is heated and converted to

saturated steam.

 

The steam from the main steam header will be  taken to the

Turbo–Generators. After rotating the turbinethe exhaust steam is

condensed in the Air Cooled Condensers and the

condensed water is pumped to the De-Aerator and fed back to the boilers.

D.G. set : 2x1250 KVA  will be installed for stand by arrangement..

The following air pollution control systems/ measures are proposed in the Plant

1. All Conveyors will be completely covered with G.I. sheets to control fugitive  

    dust.

2. All bins will be totally packed and covered so that there will not be any chance   

    for dust leakage.

3. All the Dust Prone Points Material Handling systems to be connected with

    de-dusting system with bag filters.

4. All Discharge Points and Feed points, wherever the possibility of dust 

    generation is   there a de-dusting suction point will be provided to collect the dust.

5. The collected Dust from the Bag house of Steel Melting to be taken to a dust     storage bin through a Pneumatic Conveying system.

 

Water Treatment Plant

Sand Filter, Iron Filter, ACF, DM Plant,Tube Settlers etc.

Pumps Valves, Custom Pipeline Work 

Water requirement will be 96 kl/hour (2,300 m3/day).

 

Source of Water: The water requirement will be met

from Shivnath River.

 

Effluent Treatment Plant

Entire wastewater will be treated and reused within the plant premises. No wastewater shall be discharged outside the plant premises.

Water will be mostly used as makeup for equipment cooling purpose.

No wastewater is generated from cement plant.

Wastewater generated from captive Power Plant shall be collected in Central Monitoring Basin and reused for dust suppression.

Domestic wastewater shall be taken to STP for treatment and the treated water shall be used for greenbelt development.

 

Material Handling Equipment – Conveyors, Screen, Crushers, Feeders, Cement Grouting Pumps, Air Pollution Control Equipments, Gear Boxes,  Cooling Tower, Blowers, E.O.T.Cranes, Hydraulic Equipments, Complete Laboratory Equipments, Water line Valve, Pump, Storage Tank, Vessels, Pipeline etc. etc.

 Fire fighting System as per TAC norms. 

Green Belt Development plan in 33 % area and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
