Remembering our forgotten National Bird.

Till the other day peacocks were commonly seen in most parts of India. Unfortunately that is not the case anymore. Hunted for meat, poisoned for its feathers and displaced due to habitat destruction our much celebrated National Bird is a forgotten jewel of India today. On June 5 World Environment Day this year we will be remembering a bird which was part of our life and which is now forgotten, neglected and hunted.

TNV will be conducting a series of talks and presentations on this theme.

One of the events associated with this will be a photographic exhibition dedicated to the peacock. We invite nature lovers to send us low resolution photographs of the national bird (maximum five per person) latest by 20th May to bhalu...@gmail.com

If selected the photographers  will be asked to submit high resolution copies of the selected images. The shortlisted photographers will be requested to get their photographs framed. These will be returned after the event is over.

If your image is selected then please ensure that

* A high resolution (minimum 5 Megapixel) version is available for printing.

* The image is in 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio only. The printing will be in 18x12 inch size. Your photo should be consistent with this aspect ratio.

* The photo should be 1000px wide on the longer side for normal photos and 2000px wide for panorama photos. DO NOT UPLOAD FULL SIZED IMAGES.

* The files must have jpg or jpeg extension

* The EXIF data must be present in the photo.

* No watermark or borders should be there in the photo. Your photo will be rejected immediately if it has watermark or borders.
