Dear Amit,

There's a birding event coming up that takes place globally. If you could be a part of it, that will be great (see email below from Suhel, an ornithologist and friend, and also someone who is trying to rope in people from all over India for this bird count).

Last year I did my bit and I will be counting birds this year as well, from my terrace :-).

Please forward this to anyone else you think might be interested.

Thanks,
Vinatha.

Dear xxx,

I hope you are well. I don't know whether you have heard about this year's Great Backyard Bird Count, which takes place this coming weekend. It's an occasion to join birders the world over in recording the species we hold dear; but it also provides a great opportunity to organise a birding event for schools, colleges, or the general public.

More information is here:
http://www.birdcount.in/events/gbbc/

I do hope you'll join us on that weekend; and help spread the word to other birders and nature lovers.

If you do decide to hold some kind of GBBC event, could you drop me a line so that I can include it on the "Events" page for GBBC. We have also drafted a press note that can be modified and sent to your contacts in the media.

With many thanks and good birding wishes,
Suhel
