Garlic
An effective natural pesticides is garlic. Use to control
mosquitoes, aphids, spider mites and more. You can
create your own garlic based pest repellent using fresh
chopped garlic and mineral oil.
4 ounces of garlic in two tablespoons of mineral oil and let sit
for a minimum of one day. Dilute 1:20, one part pesticide to
20 parts water. Spray on plants, flowers, vegetables and ponds,
if you are near one, to repel pests.
Lavender
Fragrant lavender repels mice and other pests while bringing in
butterflies.
Mint
Mint is also a powerful deterrent in the garden, but it can spread
so make sure to contain it in one area.
Pepper, Red & Black
Red and black pepper sprinkled around your garden can help
keep the pests away.
Wormwood
Use wormwood when making organic pesticides. Repels slugs
and snails and you can simmer the leaves in water for an effective
pest spray.
Indoors
Inside your home there may be a need for pest control. If so,
many of the same methods and recipes can be used. For
example, mint planted indoors can keep flies away while
citronella candles are ideal for mosquitoes.
