Subject: E-learning course about energy and food utilization for refugees and internally-displaced persons (IDPs)

My name is Marco Caniato and I work for COOPI, an Italian NGO, in a research and training project dealing with innovative energy technologies for food utilization in camps and informal settlements. The project is called "Sustainable Energy Technologies for Food Utilization (SET4food)" (website) and is funded by the European Commission.

I would like to share the attached training opportunity: we feel that it could be of interest for the WASHPlus members as well as the people/organizations interested in WASH. Could you advertise on your listserv and, if possible, circulate the invitation with mailing lists/contacts, please?

Below there is a brief description of the training.

Best regards,
Marco Caniato

The e-learning course "Appropriate energy technologies for food utilisation in refugee camps and informal settlements: overview, selection criteria and pilot case studies" is now available on www.set4food.org. The course is developed by COOPI-COOPERAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE and Politecnico di Milano, is in English, open and composed of 5 modules with videos, slides, and additional resources. The course will have a tutorship period starting from September 29. In such a period, webinars and activities specifically designed for participants will be organized, as well as Q&A corner and dedicated topics on the online forum. The introductory webinar will be on September 29. Please enrol on the website for further information (http://goo.gl/7PTM5h). In few weeks the course will be available also in French and Spanish, but without the tutorship period.

On the SET4food website and social networks, especially the Youtube channel, other material about energy and food utilization is available. Other training opportunities and meetings are on the website (www.set4food.org).

The course is organized in the framework of the "Sustainable Energy Technologies for Food Utilization (SET4food)" project, developed by COOPI - COOPERAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE, Politecnico di Milano and Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, and co-funded by the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO).
