to Indonesian Linguistic Team
To all of you who are eager to aid The Zeitgeist Movement in
translating movement-related material into Indonesian, thank you very
much.

First things first, everyone should get an idea of how the Linguistic
Team functions, and how translations are carried out. Should you need
real-time advice, feel free to contact any of the coordinators listed
below, and we'll answer your questions.

After which, those that feel up to the challenge should attempt to
fill the shoes of a Indonesian Linguistic Team coordinator, who will
coordinate the effort of the Indonesian team in line with the rest of
the
language teams.

Besides the Google Group for communication, the Linguistic Team also
uses:

* The Linguistic Team forum on the Global TZM Site-
http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_kunen...

* Visit http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_kunen...
for a guide to the Linguistic Team

* Teamspeak meetings- http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/wiki/index.php?title=Linguistic_T...

* Tutorial for Teamspeak (subs included) setup-
http://dotsub.com/view/4c7ed66b-5851-40db-9d68-e48d5c43b314

* The Linguistic Team Wiki, our temporary PMS-
http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/wiki/index.php?title=ZM_Linguisti...
(Vital information relating to the translation effort can also be
found here)

* The International Linguistic Team Google Groups-
http://groups.google.com/group/zm-intl-linguistic-team (which you
originally joined and is overwhelming the coordinators at the moment)

While the above applies for translation efforts, if your interests are
more oriented towards English transcription and proofreading, you can
contact the English coordinators on skype:

Gman: GmanZM
Ezra: ezra_ho
Nomada: azoreno
Lizardman: metal_owns

Thank you for your interest and we hope to build a wonderful
Linguistic Team together with you, spreading the message of TVP/TZM to
all the world.

Thx Ezra,

Before we go further, I want to clarify a sort of things;
1) Is it about the translation of the 3rd Z Movie or all of the
movement materials? If the answer is 'both', tell me about the
priority.
2) I don't have any idea about the translation team process algorithm.
Please explain me more.
3) http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_kunen...
is a dead link, and the wiki is still empty.

again, Thank You... :)

Hi Rizky! I am nomada, also helping to organize this group until we can set the Indonesian team in an autonomous way.
Now, trying to answer your questions:

1) The Linguistic teams focus on all the materials that we consider relevant. The list grows faster then we can translate them : ) There is a priority list to which I will put the link here. The Venus Project Website is, of course, the top item. But as soon as we receive the material of "Z:Moving Forward" to translate, that will be our priority. Looks like it will be a 15 days time line one; so your help will be very precious.
 http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/wiki/index.php?title=LT_Priority_List

2) I also don't know what Ezra meant here, but he will surely get back to us when he's available again : )
But to start translating, the next step after you get to know the priorities is to register on Pootle, our translations assistant. For that, please login on the Zeitgeist Movement website and then click on this link
 http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=632&Itemid=100095
and follow the instructions. Resume: Pootle will send you an e-mail, after a few minutes, with an activation link and a code for you to login on Pootle's page. Ten you will go to your account, change settings, and choose your language (indonesian) and the projects you want to help translate. When this settings are set up, Gman, Pootle administrator, will give you translation rights and you will be ready to start.
But please, add my Skype contact (preferentially), install Team Speak (also important since that is where we have our meetings and it is generally a great meeting point) or add me on facebook, so we can have a better and on time way of communication, and I will be able, and glad, to guide you through the whole process.

You can also follow the welcoming text, in attachment, which has this process well described.

3) I dont know which links were those, since they don't work here neither. But here is the Wiki links to the coordinators page, so that you start getting to know everyone and which teams are active (something missing in the Indonesian line there : )

There were at least 3 more persons offering to translate to indonesian, and the emails keep coming, so this promises  : )

Any other questions, don't let nothing stop you from asking them : )  That will make everything flow much better : )

waiting for your contact...

heya all! (=

i am anyu from indonesia. i work as a freelance copywriter and a
translator for some art galleries here. so, we could say that i have
the time in my hands.

i am more than eager to fill in the translator position for indonesian
language. but the thing is... i can't access the internet for free due
to my place that surrounded by high building. i can't get the signal
for my modem, and since i am living in a rented room, i can't get any
connection for landline modem either.

i've been working on a personal translating project for some times,
you could see them in http://learnerwithoutborder.wordpress.com/. it
is a kind of blog for learning to translate and to write for me and
some of my friends. i'm under the pseudo-name of uhm.. The Bitch. but
hey, i'm a nice one!

okay, then. i worked my translation from a hardcopy (a friend of mine
lent me his murakami book to translate) and interesting articles i
found in the net and i worked them at home on my mac.

so, to make the long story short, feel free to ask me the articles for
me to translate, and i'll do it. you could proofread it also before
uploaded in the web.

how about that?

thanks, anyway. and have a nice weekend, peeps!

Hi Anyu and Pete!

Too bad that you don't have internet, Anyu. That would make it easier and more autonomous for you and the Indonesian LT coordinator. But I have supported translators on the same conditions and it worked well. In that case, it would have to be someone from the indonesian team to coordinate those tasks for you. Pete said he might take the job.
If you still consider that Pete, keep contact with this group and try to come to today's weekly meeting, 19h on teamspeak, and everything will look simpler after Gman exposes how everything works to all the new members : )

Any questions, we are around : )

Hi Pete, Anyu, Rizky, Nomada, Ezra! Yayy..finally TZm calls for the
translators..

I'm Inda but here in th group i'd like to be under "Caritas" (Means
'love' in latin, eh? which is the reason why i'd like TZM is being
spreaded with). I am not a pro-translator/proofreader/linguist, but i
am eager to take part in this brilliant movement (TZM-TVP)! I've been
waiting and thinking of what i can do for this movement. Translating
is basically what i was about to do with some of the articles and
videos since i've been doing some translation too for some indoensian
sites (voluntarily), but i've been procrastinating and probably
overwhelmed too--what to do first and how. :p

Anyways, Im so happy to see this opportunity for TZM-TVP, happier to
see you all here, and..ready to discuss more. I am not a skype-person
but let's see what i can do with that--my husband isn't an IT guy but
is pretty good with internet-comp fortunately, so hopefully he can
help me with that.

Just so we know more about each other before we start 'working'
together, i'd like to share a li'l more about myself. I am an
Indonesian with a canadian husband. We're now living in northern
china. TZM-TVP is a movement that we're both following and -of course-
supporting. He isn't a pro singer/musician anymore but he still writes
his own songs (mostly social critics etc)..and im sure he'd love to
make some for TZM too. The movement i believe would welcome and need
many hands and work to stand strong.. don't you think? :)

So, i'd like to look into this translations group to get better
understanding..then i'll share my skype-id once i get it.

Let's spread the message!

Warm regards,
Caritas

Hi Ezra, i've checked the links you shared here, and here are some
notes of mine..maybe there's something that need to be fixed there
with the IT stuff, or it's my IT ignorance made me failed to see
things in there?..

1. Teamspeak meetings: (http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/wiki/
index.php?title=Linguistic_T)
But i suspect you meant to share this link---you might paste
incomplete address link?:
http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/wiki/index.php?title=Linguistic_Team_Meetings/2010-04-10/Text_Component
It's basically a chat forum for us, right?

Ezra, THIS IS SUPER COOL TOOL for video subtitling, so happy you
shared this! Registered already and still learning on it. Im so
excited because i am recently in love with video making..and doing
some amateur video using Windows 7 Video maker, tried some other
application too like Openshot and stuff, it isn't so bad but just not
enough creativity can be made with that.

3. ZM Lingustic Team: http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/wiki/index.php?title=ZM_Linguistic_Team
Im still learning on it..the ZM Lingusitic Team FLOW is really
helping me to get better understanding on how the whole work goes!

Ok guys..i'll get back to you later..

Warm regards,
Caritas

Sorry for the extremely late reply. I haven't been on top of the new
language teams.

This is a call for the organisation of an Indonesian Language Team and
hopefully, a chapter as well. The impetus is on you guys to produce a
coordinator and get organised, cold as that may sound. After all, TZM
is supposed to be grassroots-based.

Whether you will get the transcription for the 3rd movie to translate,
that's a question for Ray/ Gman, LT coordinator. I don't know whether
that is contingent on an Indonesian screening, in which case, you'll
have to contact the Global Release Coordinator, Sharleen.
