Hi All
Just wanted to introduce myself to the other BI translators. I'm
originally from UK, living in Makassar, South Sulawesi for next 3
years, working in the forestry department.
Would be happy to take on coordinator role, but would like to discuss
with others to see whose best place to do this.
I'll spend the next few days looking into poodles/wikis/speakies and
will add you all on facebook/skype etc.
As there is currently no Indo chapter, this is a priority which I'd
also like to discuss with the other BI speakers in the group.
Looking forward to speaking/typing with you all soon.

Sampai Jumpa
Pete.

Hi Pete!
So great to hear about your motivation to coordinate the team! That is surely a very important step! In the arabic team we also started by organizing ourselves in the Linguistic Team. That allowed us to translate the first Venus Project related content with the quality necessary to improve the information available on the youtube channels, facebooks and internet in general. It was very poor before we started. Soon the team grow.

As this is the reality that I know best, and it seem pretty much similar to your fresh start, that is my suggestion. Resuming, while focusing on main documents, like TVP website and Z:Addendum, some breaks motivated by the appearance of new small videos (2-5min) made us translate this items and launch them on youtube and facebook, creating the first availability of quality translated information on the internet.

Until now it is just you and Rizky on the group, able to translate to indonesian. The rest of us are just administrating/organizing the linguistic team and new teams recently formed. But 2 persons is a nice start. No need to wait. And I am available and would be glad to meet you on skype (Rizky also) and show you "the house" and the "toys", so that this first acquaintance would be better. Just beep. skype: azoreno

 hugs,

Hi Pete! It's fortunate to see your concern with BI chapter for TZM--
particularly in this translations project. As you'll probably see,
i've introduced myself previously in the group. Will be glad to have
more contact with you and others from the group on facebook/skype (i'd
still need to open the skype though). Please feel free to add me on
facebook under "INDAnesia" keyword. Or, may you share your facebook's
here?

I've never been in Makasar, but i heard it's a pretty hot area with
beautiful beaches. From what i know, Indonesia has pretty big problem
with forestry management by the government, one of the results is what
had happened in Wasior last October--flash floods, eventhough the govt
denied that theory as the main cause of the floods. It's would be
helpful to hear more about what's really happening in the forestry
dept i guess.. "the forestry dept", do you mean 'indonesian govt',
Pete?

Nomada, you're right..the first move is very important..so i guess
it's now 4 people already for Bahasa Indonesia (Pete, Rizky, Anyu, and
me), yes?

Talk to you guys, again.. :)

Warm regards from China,
Caritas.

Hi : )
It is a great pleasure to see your group approaching each other on this group mail! I am not a member of all the new google groups that we have created, but between the ones I am, this is the group that is moving faster into getting to know each others. I guess you are ready to put hands to work and have some "physical" (audible at least : ) meetings.

I suggest that we set a day and time where we can all meet and I will make a tour guide through the "house". Then, according to all the information and availability of each one, we can choose tasks and assign someone, or several, to coordinate and receive the new indonesian members. Sounds good? Reply to this mail if you don't agree with something or if you have any question, or just follow these links to join the meeting.

To set up an internet meeting on a day and time that suits everyone, we often use a doodle. It is very simple to use. Just click on the link, select your time-zone and select/put as green your availabilities. The next day/time with the biggest number of presences will be the chosen one for the meeting. I have selected the times for the doodle accordingly to what I suspect it is the after work indonesian time; and I have put me as available every time, since I don't have a fix job and never know if they will call me on the day of the meeting. But if so, I'll do my best to warn you : ) Here is our doodle:
http://www.doodle.com/32mqe7seggndwh2k

Also install teamspeak, the VOIP software where there is a Zeitgeist Movement server, where everyone meets, from almost all corners of the World. Here is a tutorial video and a webpage link, any of them useful to set you up : )
http://dotsub.com/view/4c7ed66b-5851-40db-9d68-e48d5c43b314
or in text http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/wiki/index.php?title=Teamspeak

There is no channel on TeamSpeak for indonesian language or chapter, so I suggest that we meet on the Linguistic Team channel or a channel bellow that one created by me at that time. You will understand it as soon you are on TS. My nickname there is nomada, in case any of you want to join any day before our meeting. Some important events on TS until then is, for example, the Global Linguistics Team meeting, every Saturday at 19h GMT (-7h than at Indonesia)

One thing that you could advance until the meeting day is your register and set up process on Pootle, our translations assistance online software. If for some reason you cant do it until the meeting day, I can help you on that then. Here is a link to a online slide show, used by the arabic team, that explains the whole process and has also a link to an example of the Arabic Linguistic Team strategy on how to approach the translations on Pootle; in case you want to follow the same strategy.

For last, here is my skype and facebook contacts for a closer approach if you need instant help.

Hi! I don't know if anyone got my suggestion to have a meeting where I
could show you how to initiate the indonesian translations to the
whole group, since that is only silence after 5 days : ( I hope you
got it. But if for some reason you dont think that is a good strategy,
or any other question that anyone might have, please beep.

cheers

beep? =P

owkey, what i'm going to say might be out of topic.
i don't know if there's already indonesian subs for zeitgeist final edition and addendum. but as far as i know, the one i got from the internet for addendum was... dunno. absurd? i got it from a person with the nickname mimingeneppuluh or something.

i also tried to open zg movement's site, but to no avail )= my hotspot connection is lame now, so i don't know whether or not both movies have already subbed in indonesian.

what i'm trying to say is that me and my friend worked on the addendum sub using gdoc and changed it to .srt in the end. he did the synchronizing and uploaded it in.... i didn't know where. haha. as far as i know, he and i have the same problem about internet connection. oh, we live in different cities and communicating only with text msg via mobile and email, and sometimes chat on Y!M.

so, anyone with REAL broadband connection, would you please check the indonesian sub i attached here, just like proofreading. so, if it's okay with you guys, if the "final edition" or any presentations hadn't been subbed yet, may i work on those?

oh, and since i am a "nocturnal" who sleep in daytime and awake at nite, would any of you guys share your Y!M ID here? i'm signed as pitopoenya, btw.

hey, thanks. have a nice weekend, y'all!

Dearest Nomada and the whole team.
First I would like to apologize for my late responses and hope you carry a bag of patience with you since I am at the moment very busy since my finances are very low and I do not have any income. Having said just about enough of my personal life, I am still touched by the ZM deep into my heart. So I do want to share my energy in this, I just need support by having you be patient like you have been and reminding me, just like this.
Perhaps one of my top priorities in dealing with this case is to find more indonesians like me who would have time to make the meetings and translate. So that I am not the only one at the moment.
I have a question though, how many indonesian translation offers have you got?

Ok let me thankyou , and get back to you as even though I have no job I do have to attend to working.

With love,
Emilie

I work for an NGO called VSO, but I'm based with BPDAS which is
government indeed.
Sorry I've been really aloof of late, but I'll get my act together
this week.
Look forward to chatting with everyone soon.

If anyone needs a place to stay in Makassar ever, then let me know.

My battery's flat so will have to catch up again later.
L8rs!

Hello everyone,

I'm Rizky Syaiful, and an undergrad. comp. science stud. in UI. (sorry for my silence lately, I was focusing to my final exams & projects)
Very interested in TVP/ZM but don't think that these ideas would easily accepted (these days),
even in academic community, (in my Uni). A lot of resistance will arise, especially from Economic guys.. :D

I've talk and promote about TVP/ZM with some of my collage friends. It usually ends up with questions
about feasibility, etc...

For me, TVP/ZM is a very future minded concept, but it's still important to sustain this those idea
to our grandchildren in the future, even though we're talking about hundred years ahead...
