Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

After experiencing a blessed time with Carols and Christmas celebrations, we are back to our weekly routine digging deeper into God's Word.

We are studying 1 Thessalonians for past 17 weeks, given we had several weeks break during December, let's take time to recap first 4 chapters study.

When: Friday, January 10th @ 7.30 PM (After 15min setup, we will start sharply at 7.45)
Where: CBC, 15815 SE 37th St, Bellevue

Week 18 (01/10/14)

Recap:
  • Background - Paul's visit to Thessalonica
  • Outstanding qualities did Paul acknowledge and give thanks for in the lives of the believers at Thessalonica (Chapter 1)
  • What were the impact and reputation of the Thessalonian church (v. 1 Thes 1:8)? How did Paul describe the transformation in the lives of the Thessalonians (v. 1 Thes 1: 9-10)?
  • What were Paul's motives in ministry (vv. 1 Thes. 2:3-6)? What metaphor did Paul use to picture his ministry "style" in verses 1 Thes. 2: 7-9, and what words or phrases did he use to elaborate on this image?
  • What did Paul say about Christians and trails or persecution(1 Thes 3:3-5)?
  • What pastoral qualities did Paul demonstrate in this passage(1 Thes 3)?
  • Why did Paul insist that sexual purity was so significant (1 Thes 4: 4-8)?
  • Summarize Paul’s teaching about brotherly love (1 Thes 4:9-10)? What kind of daily lifestyle did Paul say the Thessalonians should seek? What did Paul suggest would be the result of such a life(1 Thes 4:11)?
