Hi all,

I'm very excited to announce the long-awaited Indivo X Production Release (v1.0.0)! We've spent the last few months fixing bugs, writing tests, and working on usability, and we are confident that Indivo is now ready to run in production environments. The latest version features a number of improvements, including:

Backend Server
* New API calls for managing app-specific documents, carenets, and autonomous app authentication workflows
* Working templates for all email messages sent by Indivo
* An expanded test suite with now over 200 tests, which now run nearly 9 times faster than previously.
* Compatibility with Django 1.3, python 2.7, and MySQL
* And (of course) lots and lots of bugfixes
* NOTE: This release drops support for Django 1.1, which is getting quite old and lacks much of the functionality we need to run Indivo. Make sure to upgrade to Django 1.2 or later when you move to this release.

UI Server
* New configuration options allowing users to register for new accounts and add records to them
* A brand new sharing interface which allows drag-and-drop sharing of apps and users into carenets
* Better error handling and message/status displays
* Improvements to Inbox usability and functionality
* And (of course) lots and lots of bugfixes

As our code is now entirely on github, you can get the release by pulling the latest changes from http://github.com/chb/indivo_server/ and http://github.com/chb/indivo_ui_server and checking out the tag v1.0.0. You can also find packaged versions of the release, which includes new versions of the Backend Server, the UI Server, and the Python client, at http://wiki.chip.org/indivo/index.php/Indivo_X_1.0.0_Release_Notes.

In addition, we've revamped our documentation, which is now written using the Sphinx documentation framework (http://sphinx.pocoo.org/) and hosted by http://readthedocs.org/. Check it out at http://docs.indivohealth.org.

Also, we've set up Google Groups to archive posts to our mailing lists (indivo...@chip.org and indivo-...@chip.org). The archives are now Google-indexed and fully searchable at https://groups.google.com/group/indivohealth and https://groups.google.com/group/indivo-announce.

Instructions for installing Indivo are at http://wiki.chip.org/indivo/index.php/HOWTO:_install_Indivo_X, and instructions for upgrading Indivo are at http://wiki.chip.org/indivo/index.php/HOWTO:_Upgrade_Indivo_X. As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions, and we hope you'll play around with the release and give us some great feedback!

We'll be back in touch in the coming weeks to announce the release of a public-facing developer sandbox, an iOS framework for connecting your iphone apps to Indivo, our plans for integrating Indivo with the related SMART Platforms project, and more--stay tuned!
