Hey Captains!

We're looking forward to a fantastic day of Ultimate this Sunday! This email has all the information you need for the day. Please read through it all.
 (Directions, Schedule and Bracket, Food and Water, Injuries)

When you contact your team, please make sure everyone is familiar with the 11th edition UPA rulebook (http://www.upa.org/ultimate/rules)

Don't forget to tell your players to bring $ to buy merchandise to support the DARE Network too!

Directions:
Anacostia Fields
Nearest Metro: Potomac Ave stop: Turn left from Metro, left on Penn Ave. Walk over the bridge and down to the waterfront, go North from the bridge until you see Ultimate (it's by the skating rink).

Please meet between Field 1 and the Parking Lot for the Captain's meeting at 8:30am.
The bathrooms are located in the pavilion.

Schedule and Bracket:
8:30am - Captain's Meeting, introductions, instructions, packet, food, and water distribution
9:00am - First pool game starts
11:00am - Second pool game
12:45pm - Trophy for Best Dressed Team
1:00pm - 1st Bracket game
3:00pm - Semifinals
5:00pm - Finals
7:00pm - Trophy for Champions
The bracket is a single elimination, 8 player bracket.

Food and Water:
Each team will receive a bag of bagels, pb, fruit, a jug of water, and black beans of course!

Injuries:
We have Linda, a certified EMT, on staff for the tournament. She will be at the medical table in case of any injuries. There will be ice, tape, and bandages there.

Hi again, I was just informed that for Metro directions, it is straight from the Metro stop to Penn Ave, not left, then you turn left on Penn to cross the bridge.

Updates:

We may have to move to the fields behind the skating rink if the fields we were planning to use are too wet, but hopefully they'll dry out tonight. I'll keep you posted. The weather looks cloudy tomorrow, high 66 and low 53 degrees.

There is now also going to be a prize for the best individual costume in addition to best team costume, and the winner of that prize may not necessarily be on the team that wins overall costume. The announcement of both of those prizes will be at 2:45pm.
