Morning friends

For your interest and those reading Afrikaans, this new Substack called "OntLaer" ("UnLagering?") is launching fully soon and will include content on politics and the economy including writers from a more libertarian and individual freedom perspective.

Give us a follow and feel free to provide articles for consideration by the editors' team. We can also translate from Eng to Afr.

An excellent succinct article ...

I was expecting to see the term HCR, Harm Consent Rule, appear but it is effectively the HCR by implication.

Also good to see the acronym NAP for the Non Aggression Principle being used.

These acronyms such as NAP and HCR are useful to develop the vocabulary for libertarianism/individualism theory and practice ...

Other acronyms that are useful for discussion are Ayn Rand's "Nature of Man", the NoM, even if insufficiently comprehensive and skewed towards egoism only.

Whilst it is flawed it nonetheless by default promoted the principle that morality should be axiomatically derived from who we are as a collective and as instances of the collecive ...

Acronyms are horrible and their recent proliferation concerns me almost as much as the latest socialist revival. In the early 2000's I worked for a manager who made everyone say out the full acronym for everything... including things like TCP/IP, CAP3 and HCM (Human Capital Management). It was incredible to find that most people had no idea what they were talking about and how much you learn when you spell it out.

A quick search of "HCR" suggests it is either the Hockey Canada Registry, a company providing HR services or a horrible children's disease.
