Nick Hudson recommended this article from the substack "Price of freedom is eternal vigilance". Although long and a bit technical, I found its premise chilling and fascinating. The greatest threat to our sovereignty is not government nor tyrannies - but self modifying expert governance systems developed for the greater good. I call this the HAL effect with a nod to Kubrick and Clarke.
As ever, the only appropriate response is to emphasize the fundamental importance of consent in human systems.
