to Individualist Movement

“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.  No price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.” Friedrich Nietzsche.

Bad ideas flourish when good ideas are absent. Ideas are only made real when they are written down and shared. The Individualist Manifesto condenses the essential elements of freedom into a simple document accessible to all. The individualist movement  intends to bring these ideas to a wider public.

A group for individuals is, by definition, a contradiction.   Why would any self-respecting and freedom-loving individual feel inclined to join a group consisting of other individuals? It's a good question.

Perhaps the best answer is: for company.  Being alone in the world is scary. Humans are social creatures by Nature, even individuals. We all require the support and reassurance of our fellows.

So the individualist movement will create and foster a fellowship of individuals with a similar outlook on Liberty.

A second answer is: for enlightenment and education.  The philosophy of the Individualist Movement is derived from the classical liberal tradition. It is the basis of Western Civilization, the American constitution, and the modern libertarian ideals. Nevertheless this philosophy is under great threat in the modern world.  The individualist movement hopes to enlighten both its own members and members of the broader public in this valuable tradition.

A third answer is: for influence. The voices of lone individuals are easily ignored. For better or  worse, the voices of many individuals gathered in a group holds more sway.

A fourth answer is: for action. Most worthwhile things in this world are accomplished by groups led by individuals. If you have an objective which you wish to achieve you are more likely to succeed as a group then as an individual.

If you subscribe to the principles of the individualist manifesto we invite you to join us.
