Hey, simply wondering what's the best Taito Type X launcher for Windows 10? The ones I have encountered so far either is giving me virus warning, changes my desktop resolution (even after quitting) or won't read Xbox one controller input in the config GUI.

For the most part Type X games launch without RH All Games Loader or whatever it is. Also yes I got in trouble with ignoring those virus warnings, I believe one was a payload that did some nasty things. Most of my emulation is via keyboard (Xtension Arcade cabinet) so I don't know about xinput issues. You may try joy2key or something similar. There is a bit of software called TypeXtra, kind of hard to find in the wild but it has the proper dll's and loaders for each game. TechnoParrot has also been good at launching some Type X games, but not all.

I'm confused about the trojan warnings all over the place in the Launchbox no intro Taito Type X collection. Are these legit trojans, or false positives? Every source I've found for Taito Type X stuff has given me warnings. They have however all ran just fine and my computer doesn't seem to be changed. Who knows. I've only ran Raiden IV so far. It is something I'm wondering about though.

I've wondered the same thing. The only annoying thing is that Windows Defender will often quarantine these files, which makes for a pain in the a** but other than that, I haven't noticed anything wrong. Although I've heard from various sources that these are indeed false positives

Yep, there's a lot of jumbled up stuff out there unfortunately. While it's most often virus-free, it's also a big mess and I've had to find various fixes for nesicaxlive and teknoparrot games as a result. It's quite a hassle, but sometimes worth the effort

Just realized this thread had gotten replied, don't think I got notifications on it. I really don't like accepting files that have spotted viruses / trojans in them, even if people say they're safe - it seems to be quite the risk to take to just run an arcade game. Wonder why so many of these launchers have a false positive(assuming that's the case)?

I'm back to looking into this again, still never got my Taito Type X set up properly. I tried downloading the GameLoader RH from EmuCR and Emuline, and it refuses to download (via Mega). Possibly due to some virus check.

Because that is how they have to work. You are trying to run a game, that was designed for very specific hardware on a completely different device (if the game see's different hardware than what it was coded for it doesnt run, this even includes things like you having bluetooth on your system as that wasnt in the original hardware). In order to trick the game into seeing the correct hardware and therefore running the game needs to be tricked, and that is done with .dll files that modify other files, this is exactly how a virus works, so gets flagged as such. Don't like it, don't use it, no one is forcing you to steal these fairly recent arcade games and run them on hardware they were not designed to run on. Also to be fair you took just as big of a risk downloading these games in the first place, they are not just roms, they are PC programs and muck easier to include virus's in, and who knows what shady website you actually downloaded them from, as it obviously wasnt a legitimate site that offers these copywrited games for free.

i'm trying to set up thi emulator with taito type X/X2 games and NESiCAxLive. I follow a tutorial here =o7rRWh9ttDc and i tried to download a couple of games: Chaos Code and Power Instinct 5. In both the zip file, i found a .exe file. But there isn't a rom file...so the emulator doesn't detect these games...

Now I only need to know how to set up the joypad. Do you have any suggestion? I read that it is necessary to save the Jconfig.exe file (that is present in the pack of the Jconfig loader) in the folder where it is stored the TypeXtra loader...Can you help me? How can i config the joypad?

In order to configure the joypad i run the typex_config.exe file included in the game folder and after that the joypad works correctly for the game. And i have to do this for every game. But how can i set the joypad for games where the file typex_config.exe isn't present in the game folder?

well, i'm sorry, what do you mean with "If you set things up correctly in TypeXtra," ? Where I have to config the joypad mapping in TypeXtra? I see that if i push the gamepad icon at the bottom it appear a pop up and it ask me to select a file...but i don't know which type of file

I'm struggling as much as you are. It seems that the process of running these games has changed a lot over the years, so packs you find online might not be set up to work with the latest launchers. I too have some games that don't have a gamepad setup utility included, and don't know how to move past that.

Not sure about filters and aspect ratio correction either. There just isn't much info out there on how to get these games working properly, and the information that does exist is often contradictory. Especially for Nesica games, I still can't get any of them to run at all.

i cant get this folder to install on my arcade simply because i continually get an error code 0x800700E1 for the cmdow file and a few after that. only fix that comes up is to disable windows defender. i have even set a folder to be ignored by defender and it still wont let it pass. suggestions welcomed.

I personally don't like RHLoader. I've managed to get most Type X games to run with no problem with typex_config/typex_loader. When that failed I went to TeknoParrot. Look for tutorials on how to get the specific game to run, sometimes there are executable patches to run on windows 10, higher resolution, etc. has several tutorials and patches. Even so there are a few stubborn type-x games I could not load, usually due to a Windows patch that breaks things. I swear I had King of Fighters Maximum Impact Regulation A working just fine, then suddenly it crashes on load, probably due to a windows patch.

I've finally gotten into a bit of PCLauncher game setup with the excellent Youtube video on how to get Taito Type X games going, and I can control the games just fine with my USB controller (Dualshock 4 running via Inputmapper.) My problem now though, is my beautiful Hori Real Arcade Pro 3...which I would -quite- prefer to use with these arcade titles...simply won't work in any actual games. I can configure the stick just fine..either in the control configs provided for the individual games or in Taito X Loader...but no matter how I launch the games I get nothing on that stick. I can't even set it up with Joy2Key, it simply doesn't work in-game.

Huh. I hadn't tried the iPac setup utility; I oddly assumed it was put in as a courtesy for those who were running an actual arcade cabinet. I do have an iPac but haven't ever been able to set it up in a real cab. Now I think of it, that would be a brilliant workaround in this application, I'll give that a go.

Yeh, this iPac thing doesn't want to respond with the Hori stick either, not sure why it was included in the Taito TX files apart from a possible courtesy for folks with an arcade cab. Can't work it out why it responds fine in the config but not the actual game. And no clue what to do about it.

My guess is your joystick is putting out an incompatible joystick signal. You might have to use some middle man software (joy2key, keymapper, antimicro-somethin-somethin etc...) to convert those signals into something it understands and can use. I use an iPac in my cab so haven't ever had to mess with them so I can't really answer you for sure myself.

Search for type x controls, ttx, joy2key etc... there are also some tutorials for setting those up here. There's also 2 other joystick remapper apps that keep getting mentioned I can't remember the name of. So maybe seaqrch for antimicro, joysticks, arcade sticks, control panel etc... see if you can dig up those threads.

Are you using or do you have VJoy installed on your system? Vjoy is notorious for effing things up and this thread mentions it was an issue with TTX controls. If so I have a Vjoy workaround i came up with you can use. I also just realized you said you're using these games through PC Launcher instead of through a loader? I set mine up (resolution, country, controls etc...) using PCLoader, and launch them using the TTX PCLoader module... I've never used PC Launcher for my TTX games

No VJoy set up on my computer that I'm aware of, especially if it's an actual program that must be installed. I have Joy2Key but that's a non-install, and Xpadder which outright doesn't work on Windows 10 for me. It will start up but I get nothing after that, it soft-crashes where it will remain on the screen but ceases all responce to anything. If you have a VJoy workaround maybe it would help if I -did- set up VJoy?
