With apologies for cross posting, we would like to request your endorsement for the public statement in the email below condemning the recent decision of the Copper Mark to upgrade the certification status of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (PT AMNT) to “Fully Meets” its criteria. The decision was made while the affected Indigenous Cek Bocek (Berco tribe) communities are embroiled in a longstanding land dispute with the company and have even filed a complaint with the Copper Mark

On behalf of the Asia Indigenous Peoples Network on Extractive Industries and Energy (AIPNEE) and the Indigenous Peoples Alliance of the Archipelago (AMAN) Sumbawa, we are writing to request you to endorse the public statement (at the link below) condemning the recent decision of the Copper Mark to upgrade the certification status of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (PT AMNT) to “Fully Meets” its criteria. The decision was made while the affected Indigenous Cek Bocek (Berco tribe) communities are embroiled in a longstanding land dispute with the company and have even filed a complaint with the Copper Mark..
